Distinction Palmerston North Hotel & Conference Centre is situated in the hub of the city’s buoyant CBD and just minutes walk from lively cafes, shops, theatres, art galleries, the Museum and the Convention Centre. The hotel, housed within a beautiful three story 1927 heritage building, provides modern guest facilities combined with original features. The hotel also features a complete conference and function facility including a boardroom, large meeting room and Carlton Ballroom seating up to 400 guest’s banquet style.

Distinction Palmerston North hosts a contemporary restaurant and two stylish bars. Nosh Restaurant is a cosmopolitan, brasserie style restaurant using the very best of Manawatu’s fresh local produce. Open for breakfast from 6.30 – 9:30am during weekdays and 7:00am – 10:00am on weekends, nosh is open from 6:00pm daily for dinner, Nosh offers contemporary cuisine for all ages. Cuban Bar is an intimate lounge bar - the perfect place to meet with colleagues or just relax for a quiet beverage.
Bar One7Five is offered for private functions and is the idyllic spot to entertain clients over canapés & drinks.

I knew we would be looked after I saw the conference manager Karma at reception. A welcoming genuine smile made the difference. I was sharing the room with a colleague and had issues with the keys. Despite being busy Karma made all the efforts to get it sorted. Our team will be back and recommend this hotel to family and friends because the level of service is outstanding. Thank you Karma for the outstanding hospitality.
Easy to find, conveniently located, clean and tidy, good prices. Staff were excellent and really went over and above to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Special shoutout to Karma and Julie on reception for dealing with all our requests throughout the conference cheerfully and efficiently. The only improvement I could suggest in the rooms is to chock the beds so they don't move, and I had a bit of trouble locating light switches and power points.
Had a really enjoyable stay at the Distinction Palmerston North this week. Location was excellent for a quick walk to the office, and the rest of central Palmy. Very friendly staff - Karma at the front desk in particular went above and beyond - so friendly and helpful! Thanks Karma! Restaurant was very tasty, and huge portion sizes in their mains dinner menu. Will certainly be back next time I'm in town!
Decent stay during my work travels, however, their is a lack of parking. Room key was not working aswell, which was replaced twice. They do make a great breakfast spread and have good wifi, which is definitely a postive. Good overall
Hi, I have booked a room today. I just went to check in around 7:30pm. I was so tired and just came here to relax but I was just shocked with the behaviour of the person, i think his name is karma was absolutely disgusting. He was so rude, I didn’t except that you guys behave like this with the guest who is already tired. Just after few hours i called him for the just to ask for the parking, on phone he was so loud, rude and said that we don’t have parking for you, we have limited parking. I accept it that something there can no be no parking but it can be said nicely, wisely but it was totally unexpected. He was so so rude and i am so upset with this. I would like to request the hotel Management for this person Karma to discuss and ask him to atleat welcome the guest with kindness. I have never except this from 4 star hotel and never experienced before. I would like to hear back from the Management Food & drinks: Good
Best part of our stay was leaving. Such a disappointing hotel. Such a shame as it has so much potential with its location and restaurant/bar facilities but unfortunately very neglected and uninviting. Bed was comfortable however the street noise made it hard to sleep. Would not stay again.Rooms: 1/5
A few of us we're there for a concert, rooms were clean, staff we're awesome,friendly and helpful. Free parking available on a first in first serve basis and they have complementary toothbrushes and if you forget to bring yours. Location was perfect I would definitely stay again. Walkability: Close to cafes and restaurants and the city square. Food & drinks: Restaurant & bar onsite so no need to eat out but close to cafes and restaurants.
The rooms are slightly old fashioned. Sound travels from other rooms. There was an unpleasant stink in the bathroom. The staff was the highlight of this one night stay. Friendly and professional. Not a bad stay.Rooms: 2/5
We went there for the Volunteers Recognition function, they provide a comfortable setting and a lovely meal.
