A must do kiwi experience, friendly passionate team take you through the magical caves and glow worms.
The Aranui cave is far more structurally impressive than any other tourist caves in the Waitomo region. Fewer people come here because there are no glowworms. There are no crowds and groups are smaller, tickets are cheaper. I would definitely recommend this one.
This “dry cave” doesn’t have a water feature and consequently, no glowworms. However, the natural decorations in the cave more than make up for the lack of tiny creatures. The dazzling stalactites and stalagmites are dozens of feet tall and create an environment that feels straight off a Lord of the Rings movie set!
Such a beautiful cave! Great stalactites and stalagmites! The cave guide shows you a lot of history of the caves, and explains a lot. Great cave!

Quite a short tour. My 2nd favourite cave of the 3 cave tour. Had a great tour guide who actually grew up in the caves.
My favorite of the trio of guided cave tours by the company - Waitomo cave is too short, Ruakuri too long, this one just right. There are no glow worms but it felt the most cavernous and had the most interesting formations. Also may have just been coincidence but there were only adults on this one.
