Diocesan School for Girls

About

At Diocesan, girls from Foundation Class to year 13 are part of a school that continues to produce New Zealand's highest levels of academic, sporting and arts achievement.

Story

Our excellent academic record stands for itself, but Dio stands for so much more. We believe that education is an adventure involving creativity, imagination and discovery. It’s not enough to ‘know’ any more. It’s our job to foster and develop the skills every young woman will need to navigate this changing world. That’s the Dio Difference.

As a parent having kids attending the school, I have not encountered any bullying issue in the past 4 years nor racism. Teachers are friendly and encouraging and facilities are just state of art. One of the best schools in NZ for sure.
The system is corrupt in this school. Bunch of rich folks trying to control the system. My niece went to this school, there is no support for parents or students who are struggling with bullies at school, some staff members are racist!Jjudging by all the negative reviews from the past it’s seem that I am not the only one!
Shame on you! I have heard so many stories from friends or work colleagues as their kids go to this school about racism and bullying. Now with this article coming out it all makes sense. Stay away from this school and save your money.
#1 all girl's school in New Zealand. Our daughter has completed the junior school and moved up this year. Amazing facilities, awesome teaching staff and brilliant leadership team. Developing well rounded, creative, future leaders. Dio rocks !
Attended the winterfest water polo tournament, awesome facilities and great people thank you Brendan Mobile rust surgeon ltd
I am so impressed with Dio. The genuine care for the education and wellbeing of the girls is evident every day, and very importantly a friendly and supportive atmosphere underlies the ethos throughout the school and bullying is not tolerated. Covid lockdowns over the last year have seen the delivery of quality education with timetables adhered to and teachers present online throughout every session of every day. We could not have chosen a better school.
My friend's moving his daughter to this school from the public system. His research led him to believe it was clearly the best choice for his daughter.. He's a smart clear thinking guy who makes good decisions.
We go there for my boy's waterpolo tournaments and their facilities are amazing.
The principal of this school has decided to uncallously ignore the call for tolerance by the government of NZ and arrogantly ban a religious headcovering mandatory for a specific religion. This insensitive step, despite the horrific incidents aimed at this particular religion at a place of worship just last week. Any parent should be asking themselves, do they really want to be sending their child to a school which is governed by a person who has demonstrated hate, insensitivity, arrogance, ignorance and intolerance - all bywords associated with poor education? The answer is clear.
My 3 daughters have gone to Dio. It’s truly an amazing school - education, arts, sport, pastoral care - it’s all outstanding.
