Starting from scratch, a flower farm growing cut and edible blooms in the far north of New Zealand

"Owned by the Deeley family since 1974, Flower Farm is situated at the base of the picturesque North Downs in the heart of the Surrey countryside in Godstone. From home grown fresh fruit and vegetables and Flower Farm reared meats and eggs, to hand made pies and quiches. We’ve got freshly baked bread and cakes from David our baker, Godstone produced honey, jams and chutneys, and a selection of fresh fish caught by our fishmonger Stefan from his boat La Belhara in Eastbourne harbour. With Godstone Brewers beer brewed right here on the farm, and wine and cider from our friends at Biddenden Vineyards, for any produce that is not grown or produced on the farm, we source it as locally as we can – meaning it really is farm to table produce."

Took my kids raspberry picking here last weekend. It’s a well organised operation. There’s a large car park, farm shop, cafe and beer garden. The raspberries we picked worked out quite expensive but I guess it’s the experience of picking them the kids love. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. Check the website for what pick your own fruits are in season.
Interesting place - had lunch in strawberry fields. Had scampi and chips - the cream tea wasn’t available even though we paid for it and had to get a refund - might be better if kitchen communicated better with front of house! Mind the wasps - also occasionally there was an odd smell which wafted over the place - not entirely sure what it is but I suppose this is a farm after all! Went over to the cafe for coffee and cake after - flapjack was really delicious and there are no wasps in that area!
Good food for good times. They've got great fish and chips here. The chips are actually wedges which look like homemade and not just plain ordinary chips. The cod is well seasoned and delicious. The bar is also very nice, with a range of ales and cocktails available. We had a great time.
We decided to call in as we were in the area. Glad we did - we had a super lunch. A tasty cheese burger in a soft brioche bun with with a side of chips. We would go again if we lived nearby. Lovely staff working there. It was very busy so I think it must be a popular place to call in for a snack and a chat. We also bought some different things to usual in their farm shop. I look forward to trying them.
Tea Room review - Brunch: I took my partner and her family member to have brunch. What I would say is the food was very good. However, I was utterly shocked at the service. Only my meal & drink came out first. I went to the counter after I finished it to ask politely if where the other orders were. 20mins later I went up again asking around the remaining hot drinks 2 were ready and where the remaining food was. The answer I got was that half of my partners meal scrambled eggs wasn’t going to be served with no explanation and NO REFUND on this. My partner paying for the meal went up to ask and still refusal to refund half her meal which hadn’t even come out yet. The lady who was behind the counter made a phone call and unknown to her that my partner understood started swearing in Romanian and insulting my partner in front of us, thinking she didn’t understand what she was saying. But the worst part was when another gentleman who asked politely where his meal was. After she told him that the drinks were on there way served him with a dirty cup that was only just used from another table!!!! Disgraceful behaviour I would not encourage anyone to go there.
Counter so filled with cakes no way to interact reading menu or paying. Chairs extremely hard with thin cushions. My chair uneven and wobbly. Asked two people for service and they replied that they spoke no English or did not understand. I had warm scones with cream cheese and onion chutney. Had to try and attract someone for some butter. Tea arrived some time after in a huge coffee cup with teabag hanging out of it. I had to keep it in for ages, but the quality of brew was pretty weak. Further tea cooled very quickly being in a open brimmed coffee cup. Had to gesticulate for a napkin and was given 4. Poor service, poor quality drink. Scones were lovely. Very different from a few years ago, when I last visited. The entire service set-up did not work smoothly. I will not be returning. Please employ staff who understand what is being spoken and can communicate back.
An uninspiring visit to the tea room yesterday. A ‘sticky’ wooden table. Very dull badly designed menu. Poorly prepared food. A lovely place in great surroundings, plenty to do for kids. A great farm shop and pick your own fruit. The tea room needs an update and a fresh look. We probably won’t return sadly.
Spent a great night watching Grease in the open air. Great organization, great atmosphere, and a warm welcome. Two thimbs up!
Visited the tea room last week. My friend ordered bruccetta, she got one slice of small bread although she said the topping was tasty but was charged £8.65. The tables were not cleaned, we had to remove plates etc to another table. I ordered a coke with my food which didn't c.come Couldn't get a refund was offered a cake instead, didn't want a cake but that was all they could offer. Very expensive and bad service. Won't return
Everything is good avoid the cafe. Drinks and food are overpriced and small and my steak sandwich Which was burnt had no garlic butter or mayo like on the menu. My mum's panini had no salad or coleslaw unlike the last 2 times, and my step dad's brushecta was on regular white bread unlike the artisan bread advertised. On the menu. Update: Just got a new steak sandwich back and it's now got burger sauce! It's going from 2 to 1 star Go for the farm and the farm shop not the restaurant/cafe.
