The Dickey family has been training jumping horses for over 20 years, with Mathew first being introduced to horses by his parents Phil Dickey and Jen Blyde.
As of October 2017, Mathew has taken a step back from his professional civil engineering career to focus on equestrian sport. He competes with his team of horses at the top jumping level nationally in competitions across New Zealand.
Along with Mathew’s partner Nakeysha Lammers (Grand Prix jumping rider herself) and sister Tanya Dickey (specialising in producing young horses through the grades), Dickey Stables is home to top class riders competing top class horses.
The horse’s welfare is paramount at Dickey Stables and the horses are treated as part of the family in a friendly, vibrant environment.
