About DDB founder, Derek Direen

With more than 30 years experience in the building industry, licensed building practitioner Derek Direen spent eight years successfully managing a Group Housing Company before launching Derek Direen Building Ltd in 2003.

Following the completion of his apprenticeship with the New Zealand Electricity Department, Derek has worked extensively throughout the South Island of New Zealand on a number of detailed and complex sites. With additional building experience in sales consulting, pricing, project management and construction, he has a thorough grasp of all aspects of the trade – enabling him to provide a complete, professional service to local and international clients.

Derek Direen Building Ltd has completed many repeat builds for the same clients, and is a specialist in builds for clients living abroad. Offering personalised service to his clients, Derek takes great pride in the quality of the finished product and a high level of customer satisfaction is extremely important to him and the entire team.
