It’s been 10 years since I’ve dined at Dee Dee’s and I returned with my son specifically driving from Whangaparoa. It did not disappoint and it was absolutely wonderful to be back and have a mealnCooked with good old fashioned love in it. I had the creamy mushrooms and burger and we both commented on how good it was plus being in the country vibe. I’ll definitely be back especially for the creamynMushrooms and environment.nWell done after all this time!!!
Called into DD's this morning as knew was only place open early in the morning where I could get a nice cup of coffee and a scone, also needed something for lunch so get it all at once. No scones done, which is a shame got some lasagne for my lunch when I paid I thought that can't be right but thought I saw price wrong. Got a Large Capacinno and 1 piece of Lasagne and it cost me $23.00. $6.00 for coffee and $17.00 for Lasagne come on. Know that is a joke. Have made DD's a regular stop over the years have to admit probably hadn't been in for about 1 year and I know why now. I know lasagne use to be $10 but the whole container was full and this piece did not full the container it was in, perhaps was suppose to have salad with it which didn't get. Unfortunately this experience has put me off stopping in again.
Prickly manager/owner with a sour face, food was average, coffee luke warm and place was not clean at all, table had mess all over it from last customer. Seems to me high turnover of staff in last year could have something to do with management mostly. Not recommended for coffee or food. Service with a hello and how are you today and thanks for coming, just the basics of serving your customers. Not too hard now
Stopped in on Mother's day.nThere is a children's play area at the back.nOutside seating as well.nGood range of cabinet food and menu.nI had a slice of chicken, bacon and Mushrooms pie with salad. Very good.nOther family members chose salmon quiche and bacon and tomatoes quiche both served with side salad. They were also happy with there choices.nEasy parking area at cafe and across the road.
First time for us. We were very impressed with the array of homemade food. The cabinet was well stocked with mouth-watering choices! We chose a Bacon & Tomatoe Quiche, which was delicious! Followed with spiced apple cake, which was devine! The person who bakes these knows just how to create this perfection!nTo top it off, the barista got our Long Macchiato just right! Good coffee, great food in a country atmosphere. The staff are super friendly! What more can you ask for!
