This place is worth going out of your way for, seriously.nWe stopped here on our way to Auckland and it is one of the best meals I've had in the last 5 years I've lived in the North Island.nnWe ordered a chocolate and raspberry muffin, kids chicken strips with chips and a steak sirloin sandwich. The muffin was delicious and soft, came with a decent helping of butter and perfectly warm.nThe chicken strips portion was bigger than we anticipated but we did not regret it. The chicken was deliciously tender and soft and the crumb was crunchy, some of the best chicken strips I've ever had. Simple and perfectly cooked. Chips were not greasy and did not taste like used oil, perfectly crunchy.nnThe steak sandwich was on Turkish bread that was so light, fluffy, and tasty that when I finished eating it I didn't feel bloated or over full. The bread was honestly so good. The steak was cooked medium well and done perfectly, easy to bite into, like butter. The relish and sauce was the perfect addition and I'm seriously considering stopping by again in a few weeks just to have it again nnThis place is so worth the time and the price, lovely staff, beautiful atmosphere, also have a lovely little playground for kids and plenty of seating.nnPS, because I forgot to add the coffee blend was stunning and strawberry milkshake was delicious as well. Chai latte was also lovely.
Beautiful home cooked food and also has a restaurant menu. Top country-side café that I've been to. Coming here very day while I'm working in Waitoki
I can totally recommend this cafe. We stopped for coffees and cakes. The selection of cakes was amazing all made on site with generous serving size! Chris and the girls were a pleasure and very friendly. Will be back with friends for lunch. A true blue Kiwi country cafe. Thanks
Stopped in on Mother's day.nThere is a children's play area at the back.nOutside seating as well.nGood range of cabinet food and menu.nI had a slice of chicken, bacon and Mushrooms pie with salad. Very good.nOther family members chose salmon quiche and bacon and tomatoes quiche both served with side salad. They were also happy with there choices.nEasy parking area at cafe and across the road.
Brunch at DD's Country Cafe nStaff were friendly, smiley and happy nFood was great price. Good presentation too. Delicious Moccachino hot drink. Perfect place to stop in at
