Pretty decent conveyor belt sushi place. First of all, the staff was really friendly and the restaurant was clean. On to the food, the sushi were pretty good, decent variety and some you would not normally find anywhere else in NZ anyway. You can order other food on the menu as well, like udon. Would love to visit regularly, but the price is quite steep so I'll probably come back on special occasions. Parking: Parking lot out front.
No booking, seated 3 on entry. Your seated next to a train that carries entree sized servings of sushi, donburi, seafood, dim sims etc plus desserts, cream puffs, tiramisu, mouse etc. Continuous train. Simply grab the dishes you desire while seated and eat! Plates are color coded, these are how they tally up the total cost. Drinks list, soft drinks, red, white, beers, nothing extra. 3 people plus drinks ate till full, took home a fav each, $80.
The cheapest plate is $4 and going up to $10. I'd say it's somewhere I'll get nice seafood sushi from, but otherwise I probably would look somewhere else. The right stack is mine and I don't actually eat that much.. and was around $50. My husband was the left stack - didn't take anymore or else with his appetite we can go up to $100+ no problem. Definitely not a place for vegetarians as everything vegetarian is either cold or deep fried. The two of us together was $80 and one of us ain't even full.
Love this place. Being able to pick your sushi of the little conveyer belt is great. I do however wish there was a bit more variety. There sake is great too. It's a fun place to go to as a treat as it is a very expensive way to have a fav.Food: 3/5
The place is clean and the staff was friendly. The food tastes not so much. All of the sushi fell apart from the rice and taste bland apart from the grilled eel and Tamago tasted good. Now here's the biggest problem, we wanted to take away our leftover ramen but they don't have the proper container, the female staff also have to check several times with the manager who eventually says that the kind of container for ramen is made of plastic and is already made illegal in NZ, which we know it's a complete Bull..S... otherwise we cannot have any takeaway soupy dishes from other restaurants. so we then asked the staff to give us 2 takeaway cups for miso soup and we put it there. Clean place, friendly staff = 2 stars Bland food taste = no star BS excuse = no star
Sept2020- We visited today, which is first one after the lock down. The restaurant deserves 5 stars because they are truly keeping distance between tables. Every second table is closed. And I saw the staff seriously clean the tablea each and every time the table is turned over. Not many other restauramts observe the rules. Food is tasty as always keep up the good work. July2020- Great selection of authentic Japanese sushi that go around. Made by Japanese chief. No appointments so during busy time you can exoext up to 30mins wait. Plenty parking in front and handy location, right next to a motorway off ramp. Bucause its popular, this means the food are fresh. Not cheapest Suhsi go round in Auckland but given the handy location, ease of parking and tasty sushi, it's worthy a visit. Families with kids will love it. Just watch out for the colour of dishes you sellect as the most expensive dish will set you back nearly $10per plate, yes per plate. Cheap plate starts around $3 but most plates come around are priced/coloured around $4-$6 range which is OK. Service is good but not all that consistent depends on who you get. Still recommending a visit to find out for yourself.
The seafood sushi selection here is nowhere else to be found in Auckland. All seafood in sashimi state, had whelk shell sushi, tuna sushi, scallop sushi, king fish sushi, octopus sushi, and more. The store ran out of sea urchin sushi today but will come back for it next time. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Great Sushi Train place. A good selection of different Sushi, sashimi, side dishes and desserts which are available straight from the train. They have a drink and main menu as well which combined together would create a great experience of different flavours of Japan. One of the great features is the names of the dishes on the train, which makes it easier. Staff is friendly and attentive but without any upsell. Definitely coming back here and recommending it to anyone who enjoys the taste of Japan.
I like sushi train, you can see it before getting it and eat a variety of things. This place doesn't have a lot of other choices apart from sushi, so unless you are a big fan of sushi, this place would be slightly dissapointing. They do however have seasonal menu, so you still get something different every now and then. Overall a clean and nice environment, food is fresh, sushi is not bad, but nothing special.
The train was out of a lot of the options when I was in, so a little disappointed. You can get fried products or udon chicken if your not in the mood for sushi. They also have soft drinks and beer available. Service was friendly and efficient. Parking on a Sunday was fine
