Darfield High School is a public, co-educational, Year 7-13 school, located in rural Canterbury, New Zealand.

Story

Darfield High School is a New Zealand state co-educational High School which offers international students the opportunity to study and learn English in a safe and friendly environment. The school is situated near the magnificent Southern Alps - 25 minutes from Christchurch International Airport and 40 minutes from the centre of Christchurch City. International students enjoy living and studying in a rural environment, without the distractions of the city, whilst still having access to the city and all the outdoor activities our environment offers.

Darfield High School and the local community have been hosting international students for over ten years. Close and long-lasting relationships have been formed between international students and their host families along with students at school and people in the local community. Our teaching staff are well qualified, friendly and always willing to assist and encourage all our international students.

We welcome international students from many countries around the world. Students coming to our school for an English education are prepared academically for entry into university in their country of origin and/or in New Zealand.

Students who choose to experience Outdoor Education will be offered experiences that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

This school is god awful. If you want your child to go thirsty or pee themselves then dont worry because they have that, wanna go grab a drink? Too bad stay in class. Need to go use the toilet? Too bad stay in class. Even when you do get let out good luck finding an unlocked toilet. Majority of the staff dont know what theyre doing and theres always staff leaving and joining. Want your child to be able to vape? Dont worry as there is plenty of that going on in this school and the staff are completely aware of this but dont care. Yes this school has its fair share of bullying too. Dont have a computer to bring to school? No need to worry as they have old chromebooks with at least 7 missing keys that barely function. As of recently there has been a phone ban so good luck getting into quick contact with your child. Too poor too afford food to bring to school? Dont rely on the canteen there as it is insanely expensive. If you want your child to freeze to death in the classrooms then definitely enroll them in this school! To sum it all up with other things i didnt mention is basically this school is absolutely terrible and would not recommend.
School won't give us results back! show our silly salmon to teachers and get extra credit, perhaps this could be improved? Caesium band of school, need better music theory, rock on !
