Bookings essential however, twice we have been able to walk in and be seated with 6-10 people. Meals are great prices for how much you get, all meals are prepared on a hot plate in front of you, lovely staff and the food is always perfection. Highly recommend.
Only serve teppanyaki during lunch while we are there. We choose fire meal, gourmet meal and sumo meal. Though expensive but worth the money, good quality food, comfortable environment and friendly chef. Will come back again if I pass by Hamilton next time.
Cooked all at once, no showmanship or passion for cooking. Done to get people in and out, cooked to well but lacking in quality of certain ingredients At least $20 more expensive for everything than other teppanyaki restaurants No presentation was just dumped on the plate when it had finished cooking. Premixed fried rice. Teriyaki chicken was dry and overcooked. Prawns were over cooked, and the yumyum mayo was "almost okay"
We were there for just regular menu dinner and ordered the Grilled Eel Donburi Set as well as the Teriyaki Salmon Bento-combo dinner set. This was plenty of food for two of us and enjoyed most of it as there was a lot of different dishes to try. Only thing was that the salmon was a little overcooked, but everything else was great. The staff were very friendly and attentive in taking away finished dishes and bringing the next ones out in an orderly fashion like an organised degustation. Would come again if in the area again.
Food quality is above average. Good menu selections even if you don't want to have cook-in-front-of -you Teppanyaki.Handy location. Didn't have to wait long for the kitchen to cook our orders. Service is not friendly and not proactive. Try to get the Boss Ladys attention but she deliberately looked away in an very arrogant manner. The Lady manager with pony tail has no smiles at all and acted almost like customers are a bother to her. Most traditional Japanese reaturants have Mondays off so we kidda had no choice but to come to this place as it was the only Japanese food open today in CBD Hamilton. Wouldnt return again unless have to. You get better services from Macdonald staff in CentrePlace. Throughout the whole experience, the managerguy did smile and say "thank you" to us and it was only when we were paying the bill.
Family group of 8 and we had a fun dinner, our chef was entertaining and the younger kids in our group really enjoyed it. Plenty of choice on menu, yummy flavours
5 star service and a great experience - if you can’t make it for dinner go there for a delicious value lunch. It’s great for the whole family. I would recommend this restaurant for dinners out with a group. Happy dining and thanks Daikoku.
A nice dining experience, friendly service staff with smiles. Food was not bad. My family and I had a pleasant experience there.
Great service! The chef was amazing and entertaining at the same time. It's a shame that they're running on a skeleton crew and it would definitely be a shame if it has to close one day. Hopefully they're able to employ a few more staff to keep the momentum going.Food: 5/5
Food was great, I had to approach the bar though 20 mins after being seated to ask for drinks..
