Enjoyed dinner and drinks only here, the food was excellent, the beef schnitzel was great, the ribs had meat on them! Also the roast dinner was excellent. No star to rate the food but would have gained 4 stars. Barmaid could have been friendlier. Food & drinks: Wide range of meals on the menu! Daily specials
We stopped here for lunch as it’s very convenient with lots of parking out front. The bar and dining areas are huger with lots of seating inside and outside at the back and also out front. The owners are very friendly and helpful and a large choice of food and beverage is available. I can recommend the eggs Benedict which was delicious. Inside you can find a picture of the previous building which was burnt down, the existing building was built in the 1950s with a lot of art deco style features.
Nice spot in the Main Street with easy parking. We had a group of 7 and everyone was very happy with their meals. Speedy service with ample cold drinks on a hot day this will become part of our trips to Hanmer more often. We looked at the reviews before we dined and found some of the 1 star reviews to be well wide if the mark. Honest pub food with a huge range of meals at a great price.
Run by a friendly couple Sarah & Al. Stopped for lunch on ANZAC Day. We thoroughly enjoyed their food drinks and friendly chats. A busy lunch hour here too. Well done and best wishes.
Big Al, probably the most hospitable publican I’ve ever come across. Top selection of beers but the highlight was the pub grub degustation! Reasonably priced and amazing on the tastebuds! Excellent sporting bar fully equipped and fitting of a town with an overrepresentation of capped All Blacks and hard to imagine there won’t be more with the feeds this establishment is pumping out!
Stopped in on the way through, great place for a drink and good hearty food. Great service, very welcoming.Service: 5/5
We had beef schnitzel and pork roast which both were delicious, portions more than generous can’t breathe now . If we go around in the future, we will stop by again for sure!

The room was excellent for the price with a shared separate toilet and shower. But the meal was amazing, even better was the packed lunch. Recommended.Rooms: 5/5
