I have been training at CrossFit Christchurch since April 2014 and as soon as I walked in the door for my first session I felt like I was part of the family. The coaching staff are highly qualified and knowledgeable and they truely care about your well being and want you to succeed. This is the perfect environment to be in if it is your first time going to a gym because you get one on one help during classes on your technique as well as support and encouragement from the other members. On the other end of the spectrum, if you have already have some experience with fitness, CrossFit will help you build on this and turn you into an amazing athlete : The workouts are differnent every daynot the same old thing every time and can be easily scaled to different fitness levels. There is a free intro session where you can just turn up and see what the whole thing is about and I promise you, you will fall in love! Exercise will become fun rather than something you dread doing every day.
You'll get your money's worth at Crossfit Christchurch. They have a great starter membership $130 for 12 sessions to get you going which allow you access to all Beginner and HITFit high intensity training and fitness classes while you learn the ropes of the gym. This is a place where you will set new fitness goals and actually surpass them..quickly. The atmosphere is that of a family where you're encouraged to be better than before, but actually listened to if there's an issue or pain. The coaches focus on technique above all else. This isn't a place where a bunch of meatheads come to show off and throw out their back lifting the heaviest barbells possible, so even those just looking to get into better shape will feel welcomed. This is more than just a gym, it's a community working together to promote and encourage healthy lifestyle habits with annual challenges for healthy eating as well. In order to advance within the gym, you must complete the Beginner's Sequence Test which ensures you have learned all of the moves consistently used in the WODs work out of the day and Advanced Classes. This requires attending all four of the different Beginner's classes offered. If your schedule doesn't allow or the WOD still frightens you, HITFit is a great way to get a 30 minute strenuous, cardio-intense workout in, but involves far less technical movement think: burpees, squats, lunges, pull-ups, press-ups, sit ups, running/rowing. There are sessions for mom's and babies, kids and just about anyone looking to get fit. The weekly schedule offers classes almost all day starting at 6 in the morning and ending after 7 to accomodate those with longer work hours; there are also many Saturday sessions open to all levels. The price for packages are less than a normal gym membership and offer various monthly packages, too. With so many options there are no reasons not to join. My husband and I are total converts to Crossfit Christchurch and in the short time we've been members have already seen tremendous results not just in strength but in fitness and overall health. I love this community, the coaches and the workouts. If you're serious about wanting to take your body to the next level, you have to get into Crossfit Christchurch!
