We stopped here on our way through for a quick coffee and morning tea. The two coffee were good and strong. Plus they do a large which I appreciate. The food we had was nice. My breakfast muffin could have been heated a bit more. The cheese scone was one of the best that my hubby has had.
A very enjoyable lunch in a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere. The decor is simple and adequate, but needs that rocking table sorted! . The staff are very friendly and helpful and they appeared to take pride in where they were and what they did. They have great gluten free options that are coeliac safe and the iced coffee was delicious. We thought this place was one of the best cafes we've visited in a long time and will happily visit again when we come through this town. Thanks very much. Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options for coeliacs.
Beware, before you ask for something extra. As per Amanda Stewart says in her review below, their prices are okay until you ask for an add on, a real rip off, $2.50 extra, if you want a little more ham. Compare the toasted sandwich photo in my review of Crystal Bay Bakery in Taihape, for a little extra ham at a cost of $1.00. Or am I being a bit picky? I have been here before, and the service and food was far better then than it is now. My croissant was tough to cut through, and the extra ham was pretty small for the extra $2.50 cost. My wfe had a date scone which was great as was the coffee.
Our favorite local Cafe! So awesome having a great Cafe close by in our home town. Good accessibility for my 92 year old Nana, and she loves the sweet treats. We love the breakfast offerings and lways a generous serving of bacon too.Food: 5/5
Thanks for being open Easter Fri. Stopped in for hot drinks on our way through to Auckland. Nice little cafe, huge menu and decent well priced cafe food. Good coffee only complaint is cappuccino was pretty much a flat white with choc on top not frothy milk like i expect with a cappuccino but still pleasant to drink :
We had lunch at the Cow cafe today with my 92y old mother. She asked especially for crispy bacon and toast. She was sooooo pleased with her crunchy bacon which was cooked to perfection. My lunch was also very nice. Thanks very much. I enjoyed it heaps. Cheers, Pat Garrett
Love this cafe. Great food. Love the muffins too. Awesome coffe and lovely friendly staff. Love that they open so early for an early start road trip.Food: 5/5
This cafe serves nice home made food and really good coffee. To top it off, within a couple of visits, the staff knew our coffee order off by heart and this is no mean feat as my wife's order is very complicated. Vegetarian options: They have recently updated their menu which now includes more vegetarian options. The vege stack is really nice.
First time we’ve stopped here but not the last. Great coffee, food & Atmosphere. Definitely calling in on at back. Thanks team. RayFood: 5/5
