Craigieburn Valley Ski Area, located in the heart of New Zealand's Southern Alps, where the ups are good, and the downs are even better. Steep narrow chutes, wide open powder bowls, un-crowded runs or just a place to take it easy in the awesome vista of the Craigieburn Range. If you are an advanced or expert rider then Craigieburn is your holy grail.

Well formed track, good signs, mostly sheltered.
Some of the best off piste in NZ
Probably New Zealand's most epic advanced ski terrain. Usually not crowded. Great lunch hut. Have a beer after in the bar.
Steep, fast & fresh lines
An awesome place to ski and hike climb.
Great slopes and powder boarding. Nutcracker tow ropes take a wee bit to get used too but were fine once I got the hang of it
Great ski area for intermediate skiers who want to improve their skiing in ungroomed splendor. Good for advanced skiers who want a good rewarding days skiing.
Great ski field! Rope tow access to some awesome terrain
Please note that the track requires you to cross a narrow gravel hill avalanche zone. And it took us 5hrs in total to complete the track instead of 3hrs on the sign post. Please allow time for this. View was ok and you will travel through different kind of trees and scenery.
