This is a nice Countdown in Ponsby that's a bit on the smaller side. It does have a large selection of wines if you're looking for something to go with dinner. The lighting is nice in the produce section but the prices are pretty spendy for fruit and veg. They do have an assortment of gluten free items, which I appreciate as a Coeliac. The drugstore branded makeup is incredibly pricey. As an American, I'd never wear makeup again if I had to pay these prices for what is considered the cheapest brand makeup in the US. We did paid street parking. If there was a lot somewhere, I didn't see it. Visited February 2023.
There is wheelchair parking 2 floors of under store parking As like most countdowns clean and presentable large asiles . As you enter the store on your left is a bakery sandwich wraps kiosk I didn't have a good look at it just saw what I described.. how convenient. Also very handy a pharmacy for prescription and medical medications etc.. I was satisfied with my experience at this countdown
Nice Countdown Supermarket at Ponsonby. They’ve got larger varieties and many more products there. At the entrance there were cleaning and sanitising products for the trolley thankfully. At other Countdowns too they do have the products but they’re either finished or there is no tissue available to wipe off the sanitizer faced this issue at 2-3 other Countdowns. The floors and the other areas were clean. There were staff at the billing counters helping people out with putting their stuff in the bags to fasten the process.

So sick of your self-checkout stations being absolutely filthy & sticky. This store has been my local since it opened and since what’s-his-face from down the road became the manager, the level of service and general cleanliness has gone way downhill. Having to ask to have the glass services cleaned to get the scales to read the barcodes is not on. And it’s not like we have much of a choice when EVERY checkout is also filthy Clean your self-checkouts more regularly Countdown Ponsonby. They’re gross!!
Small compared to some other store's but they have everything you'll need, the store is lovely and clean. The toilets seriously need attention, although very handy to have. Staff are friendly and helpful
Ease of experience is the drawcard for this place. A covered safe well lit carpark is another bonus.

Love the mostly plastic free produce section! They have great tips and reusable produce bags as well. This is still a trial run so they ask for constructive feedback while they’re figuring this out. I think it’s a great start. I’ve also found this store to be very organised and clean every time we’ve been in the past.
Great place! Always happy to shop there. The shelves are always well stocked and the staff are always helpful. It is always very busy there but if you don’t mind waiting then that will be fine.
