We saw some negative reviews but at the same time we saw some positive once. However, we decided to give Indian Springs a chance. We were greeted well and asked for our vaccine pass. Upon checking our vaccine pass we were directed to our table. We were given our menus to make a selection. We discovered that there was a good selection of meals. There was also some takeaway specials which was cheaper. Dine in was only $15 dollar difference. The food did not take time and it tasted delicious. The toilet facilities was clean and customer service was friendly. The chair was very comfortable. We left after paying satisfied. We won't able to finish our meals. We were provided with a takeaway container. I must say we enjoyed the food and the hospitality. We will definitely dine again when we revisit Hanmer Springs. Thank you Indian Springs.
Indian Springs Restaurant is a popular restaurant located in Hanmer Springs, New Zealand. The restaurant offers a variety of Indian cuisine, including vegetarian options. The restaurant's menu features dishes such as butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, and vegetable korma. In addition to its food, Indian Springs Restaurant is known for its scenic location and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The restaurant is located within the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa complex, which offers visitors a range of relaxation and wellness activities.
During our visit to Hanmer, we visited them for lunch. Ordered masala tea, chicken biriyani and tandoori chicken dine in and takeaway. Masala tea wasn't the best. But impressed with chicken biriyani though seemed bit more oily it was really tasty. Toilets available too. Staff was friendlyFood: 4/5
I've noticed a few negative comments and I can honestly say, our experience was spot on. We were seated without reservation at approximately 6.45pm. We barely had to wait to be asked for additional drinks on top of the table water which was already present. Also, we were asked for our food order promptly. There were a number of other restaurant guests so it wasn't because it was quiet. The food was cooked and served prompt. Not only that, the food was delicious. Perfect portions, reasonably priced, nice ambience and really helpful, friendly and efficient staff. I wish I'd taken pictures of the food but I was so hungry after spending the day at the springs, there was no time to waste. The Vegetable Jalfrezi was delicious. They were more than happy to accommodate my vegan diet. If you are after a good Indian restaurant, look no further. Thanks Indian Springs, if we are ever back in Hamner Springs, we will see you again. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: There were plenty of vegan options.
That was the best Indian chicken curry I ever had. That naan bread was so fluffy and crispy and garlicy, it was all the goodness. I would easily drive back here from Christchurch just to have that meal again. Well done team. You guys are smashing out of the park.
This is a good basic Indian restaurant. We had a mixed entree for two, and it was delicious. We came here for a top up after eating at one of the other restaurants in town, which didn’t quite satisfy our needs! Recommended
Maybe one of the worst Indian restaurant that I did. The butter chicken doesn’t taste like a butter chicken. The cheese naan was crispy I was like " ok that’s fine " until I see the chef taste the sauce with his finger when paying the bill. I know every people working in a restaurant are doing this, but please, don’t do it in front of the customer. Close the little hole in the wall behind the till.
JUST AMAZING! Thank you so much for the service and meals. We’ve order Mailai Kofta and was absolutely delicious. Good prices, good quality food. Thanks one more time. Highly recommend it!!!! Vegetarian options: JUST AMAZING! Thank you so much for the service and meals. We’ve order Mailai Kofta and was absolutely delicious. A similar range of dishes you will see in many Indian restaurants across NZ but done very well. We had chicken posht, lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. All were very good with a significant amount of heat compared others I have tried. Very good service too.Food: 5/5
Many curries can be made vegan which was great! We had the Aloo Gobi and Mushroom Mattar with aloo paratha. We also asked for an onion salad that wasn’t on the menu and they were happy to accomodate. You can get an 8 dollar kingfisher on tap while waiting for takeaways also! Great experience overall :
