We stayed 2 nights in Sep, David and Anja were so friendly and make ourselves at home. The 3 dogs are also cute. You can ask David to let you feed his pet sheep, we were so lucky to eye witnessed a baby lamb born! Highly recommend and definitely want to come back again!
We were treated to an excellent night stay by the hosts, David and Anja. At check-in we were given a friendly tour of the heritage property grounds and wedding venue, including taste testing some homegrown fruits. Our accomodation was just perfect and had everything to make us feel more than comfortable including a swim in the pool and spa. Breakfast spread provided was memorable, absolutely superb. Our expectations were well exceeded and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the moment we arrived. Hidden gem. Thank you again!
Hands down this was the best B&B experience I’ve had in NZ. The house has got the loveliest character, is gorgeously furnished, and just so cozy! Literally couldn’t think of a better place to snuggle up with a book and relax for a few days. David & Anja are such gracious hosts and lovely people. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and provided absolutely delicious breakfasts & platters. I loved cozying up next to the fire in the evenings and having their sweet dogs curled up next to my feet. Things to do when you go: - hire a bike from them and bike along the Hauraki trail to the cheese barn for lunch - enjoy a night time spa under the stars - definitely book the snack platter - ask David to give you a tour of their family farm and maybe you’ll get lucky and get to meet a day old calf like I did! I’d recommend booking for 2 days so you can fully enjoy all that is the Corbett House.
Corbett House is a lovely place to stay. The house is a beautiful period home. The bed was very comfy which is very important. Dave and Anja are fabulous hosts. The breakfast was amazing. Can't speak highly enough of our stay.Rooms: 5/5
Best B&B I have ever been to. The house is beautiful and has so much soul and spirit. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly. She took great care of us and made us feel at home.
Wanted to book a special weekend away. The criteria were not too long a drive from Auckland.1.5hrs-2hrs max A house with character and good facilities . Interesting stuff to do locally . To this end we struck GOLD with Corbett House. Our Hosts made us feel welcome and at ease straight away. The home is rich in history and warmth that breathes from the natural timbers, classic furnishings. Breakfasts are home cooked and enough to satisfy the hungriest, whilst being healthy and sourced locally. We rode the bikes that were provided to and from Karangahake Gorge. Took a well need relax in the Cedar hot tub. Followed with some spirited snooker on the full size table. We stayed two nights here and are looking forward to doing it again. We got back to Auckland feeling refreshed and as though we had had a week away. If you don't mind spending a little extra it truly is worth it and I for one couldn't recommend it highly enough.
What a fantastic find! Lovely hosts, beautiful historic home and accomodation and a cooked breakfast that was a great treat. Thank you! We will be calling in againRooms: 5/5
Beautiful place, here for a wedding. Even in the rain the venue was well prepared and pulled off an amazing celebration. If 10 stars was a thing that's what they'd get
This house built in 1924 is very charming. Everything is so well decorated, and the host very welcoming. We loved the living room with the fireplace and the huge pool table. The bedroom was also very beautiful. The breakfast was good also, we enjoyed the homemade jam along with fruits, cereals, toasts and a croissant. The garden is beautiful also, with a lovely old magniolia that started to flourish for us in mid-august!.
We stayed 3 nights at Corbett House recently. Our Hosts were terrific and showed us round and made us feel very welcome from the start. The house is lovely. The hosts have made a big effort with improvements but keeping the character of the house intact. The woodwork is tremendous and gives the house a lovely warm feeling. Our bed was one of the recent additions and very comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious, home cooked using eggs from the hens they keep, home made muesli and other home made goodies. We rode the bikes that were provided on part of the nearby Hauraki Rail trail to the Karangahake Gorge and then made good use of the cedar hot tub to relax afterwards. After dinner there was always an enjoyable game of snooker on the full size table. We felt at home here and really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended.
