Columbus Coffee

Chicken Filo, flat white, raspberry loaf. All delicious. Parking easy as it’s in the Mitre 10. Chicken Filo full of chicken, not just a few bits. Plenty of seating.

Went to look at the kitchen displays at Bunning's and decided to have lunch at the Columbus Coffee. Ordered the sweetcorn pancakes and a flat white with my friend. We were both pleased with our coffee and meal.

I hadn’t been to this Columbus for years, and was pleasantly surprised. Great coffee and excellent coffee. Had the supreme omelette which was interesting. I cook a lot of omelettes and used to golden brown finish on the underside. This one had no colour, but the flavour was bang on. Very enjoyable.Food: 4/5

Went here twice in the space of 2 weeks and I think the difference comes down to the time of day. First time, Saturday morning around 10 am, several tables available, waitstaff friendly, great coffee, and food was perfect Second time Saturday afternoon around 1pm few tables available, waitstaff not focused not clearing tables quick enough, coffee was okay and food was rubbish. They sent out a potato rosti all on its own, and the meal it was a side for, didn't come for another 15 minutes. Wait time total for food was 40 minutes, and one was wrong. Instead of redoing the whole meal, they replaced what was wrong, making the rest of the meal cold. Side note, by the time we got our meal the place only had 6 tables of people, and others had recieved their food before us but after we had ordered. Won't be going back. 2 stars only for the first time around and when the foods hot and right, it's actually pretty good.

Nice staff and good coffee and the desserts in the cabinet are tasty. It's right by the garden centre so the view is green and close to the kids playground. They let me take my drink and food to the playground so I could have that while my son played.Food: 4/5

It's hidden within Mitre 10. Great kind service. I would recommend for family with kids as there is playground in front of shop and boxes with toys inside coffee shop. They have breakfast and lunch menu with good amount of choices. Our meals tasted great. Definitely recommend and come again even if you don't go shopping for Mitre 10.

Sadely a average experience compared to other Columbus locations. Service when ordering was very confusing for the staff member to manage. When repeating it back he got it all wrong but was past caring at this stage. They approached our table 3 times and never cleared plates. Most of the time 1-2 staff were sitting two tables down from us chatting to a friend, very unprofessional. Overall staff were very casual and not really running the shop. We had eggs on toast and the mushrooms. Both were nice although one had burnt bread. Seems the convenience of the location has reduced the need to provide the normally excellent Columbus service. Drive 5mins longer and go to the Saint John's location instead.

Very nice atmosphere being right next to the Mitre 10's garden section. Also has a place for children. Friendly and quick service. I ordered for a latte but got a flat white. Didn't complain about this, but still a wee bit disappointed.
