Perfect for what we needed. We arrived later on a hot day and easily set up our tent in the shade of the trees. The lady that checked us in was friendly and informative. Facilities - including kitchen and shower blocks are basic but clean. We needed our own washing liquid etcnThe town is 5-10 mins flat walk away - with some lovely cafes, bars and restaurants. We also went for a swim in the river down the road which was a lovely spot.nI was a bit worried about this place after reading some of the reviews so we were unsure what to expect - and we drove past another higher rated place first but decided on Clyde rather than Cromwell/ Bannockburn as we thought it a cuter place.nIt’s true there are quite a few empty caravans on the site at least when we came in mid Feb which can make it feel a bit atmospheric.. but at night we appreciated the peace, and overall the setting is lovely, it’s perfectly nice, quiet, in a great location, good price, and looks a lot better than others we drove past in the vicinity.
Horrible service. Roslyn was utterly rude, bad attitude, and very unwelcoming. Read other reviews and are so glad we are not staying here.
Excellent location, walking distance to the town centre, although the facilities feel very tired, so overall felt a little pricy considering that. Kitchen has everything you need, but is very basic. Used the laundry and showers whilst there both extra charge. Be prepared for the showers to feel like old football changing rooms!
Not the best campsite we have visited nor the cheapest with the additional cost for the showers. Very dry and dusty with pretty uneven ground for tent pitching but what we noticed most of all was the lack of trees and therefore shade. Amenities are basic and a bit tired. Rosalyn the manager was very friendly and helpful.
Was staying nearby but was going to stay at the camp for a few days to do washing and replenish batteries etc. called in to see if I could fill two 20 litre containers from a tap. Didn’t think it was a big ask. Was told by the manager in a fairly straightforward and rude manner that I should drive to the dump station in Alexandra, miles away. No other discussion was required apparently. I won’t be staying there any time soon.
