Without doubt, the best coffee I had on the West Coast and super friendly staff. The Clocktower Cafe opens early for your caffeine fix if you are off out to take photos, catch a fish or set off on an adventure. I can also highly recommend the poached eggs on toast as a tasty way to set you up for the day!
Friendly, welcoming service. I had the corn fritter, sandwiching bacon and some leaves of spinach, topped with a quarter of a tomato. I liked how light it was, I didn’t want a heavy breakfast. I think the flavors could have been brought through with some additional herbs. There was some kind of sauce, a light chutney but not sure. Boyfriend said the coffee was the best he’s had in New Zealand flat white. I’d go back if they had more options for bagels, not just bacon and egg but salmon, cream cheese et .
Good coffee and a very tasty gluten free caramel shortcake! Strong WiFi as well. Lots of elderly people but it’s a perfect spot to do some laptop work and enjoy a coffee.

these are all of food we ordered. we waited 40 minutes while the Cafe is not busy. we have asked the staffs twice about the time to serve the food. finally the lady said this is Cafe not food serving Place customers have to spend lots of time to wait for the food.this is awful answer for us. They are not respect people. Strong not recommend to this Cafe.
Nice wee place to stop in Hokitika. Lovely coffee and a good range of treats and cabinet food. Staff were friendly and service was efficient.
I ordered fish and chips and it was fairly good along with the sause. They have some mean pies as well.
Simple cafe. Simple foods. Tried whitebait sandwich. You can choose white or wholegrain beard, it would be good if they can toast the bread. Venison pie tasted ok. Usual choice of beverages.
Great for mini Bacon and Egg Pies and coffee for breakfast. Top cafe. Well worth a visit to Hokitika for. Food: 5/5
This place has definitely gone backwards over the years. Coffee was ok but cabinet food selection very average. Mince pie was only just edible.
