We had an incredible time walking all the way to the top of the 1000 Steps, and the best part was being able to bring our dog along! The trail was challenging but so rewarding, with beautiful scenery all the way up. Our dog absolutely loved the adventure, it was great exercise for all of us. Highly recommend this walk to anyone looking for a bit of a workout in nature, especially if you want to share it with your furry friends!

We went for a walk here and walked for an hour as we walked to the viewpoint. When we returned we discovered our van had been ransacked and robbed. In the middle of the day they broke the lock on the passenger seat and stole a black backpack with a wallet.nnThis was our very first trip to New Zealand. The police said we should file the report online - so no one came along.nnThe hiking trail is beautiful, but unfortunately there are thefts in the parking lot. Keep your things locked up or take them with you.
