I joined CityFitness in March after moving to Palmerston North, and unfortunately my experience has been disappointing.nnI was surprised that the $29 joining fee didn't include even a basic introduction to the main gym equipment. As someone new to the gym, I asked staff for help on two separate occasions, but they seemed reluctant to assist and I didn't feel I received the support I needed.nnI initially signed up for the most expensive membership so I could attend Pilates classes, but I wasn't told how difficult it would be to book into them. They seem to be fully booked most of the time.nnUnfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances and the need to move, I have had to cancel my membership. During this process, I was disappointed to learn that cancellations require four weeks' notice. I was also surprised to find that it costs $32 to put a membership on hold and that you need to give five days' notice before a hold can begin...nnThe one standout part of my experience was the excellent customer service I received from the lady I spoke with on the phone today regarding my cancellation questions. She was friendly, helpful, understanding, and professional.nnOverall, I feel there is a strong focus on charging joining fees, hold fees, and enforcing lengthy notice periods, while the level of customer support and access to advertised services hasn't met my expectations. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend paying for the premium membership unless you're confident you'll be able to secure bookings for the classes you want.
They keep there machines clean and up there hygiene up and good staff to help
Great gym and happy staff.. awesome place... Can we have a sauna and cold pool..haha
Great gym. Easy to access after hours. Can get busy sometimes, but lots of equipment and machines so usually able to make a work out work. Great amount of treadmills/bikes etc. Tidy changing rooms and toilets. Range of pricing options to suit different needs and budgets.
More space, equipment and friendly vibe. The open space gives a cleaner atmosphere. Recovery room is peaceful and relaxing. I haven't been able to get in to Pilates and yoga yet but they look like a vibe.
