Unfortunately, my practice couldn’t see me, so I decided to go to City Doctors, thinking I would be seen by a doctor rather than a nurse practitioner.nAt reception, I was told the cost would be $195. I thought, “Okay, for that price, I should receive excellent care and advice.” However, I left with nothing more than painkillers and a medical certificate. By Friday, I was still in significant pain—the medication hadn’t worked—and now I need to book another appointment because my condition hasn’t improved at all.nnMy question is this: what makes this practice so exceptional that they can justify charging $195? It feels like they are taking advantage of people’s desperation rather than providing the level of care that price suggests.nnSuggestions for ImprovementnProvide clear value for the fee charged: If the consultation costs $195, patients should feel they are receiving thorough care, including proper assessment, advice on next steps, and possibly a treatment plan—not just painkillers and a certificate.nnOffer transparency on pricing and what it includes: Patients should know what they are paying for upfront—does it cover follow-up advice, diagnostic tests, or just a brief consultation?nnImprove follow-up support: For acute cases like severe pain, consider offering a follow-up check or advice without requiring another full-price visit.nnFocus on patient outcomes: Ensure that patients leave with confidence that their issue is being addressed, not just temporarily masked.
On behalf of my 8yr old Son, Jesse.nAfter an x-ray for a broken arm and 2 wrongly applied coloured casts in the same afternoon at the dr’s, we ended up at the hospital with a white cast all ED hadnAll he wanted was some coloured cosmetic wrap to go over top, same as his original casts.nCity doctors initially said yes, then said they wouldn’t give him any, even after stuffing up his castsnGo the city dr’s PN you are such a kind team
Excellent service, the receptionist was very helpful and the doctor was patient and got me an x-ray and pain killers all within a couple of hours, which is not to long a wait.nThank you for an efficient and fast service.
Whilst the wait was extensive, two practitioners were lovely, even if it took over three hours to see them as a casual walking patient. What wasn't expected from the $210 fee! Yes, not a typo! This should have been disclosed at time of making appointment. Be warned if you don't have access to a bank vault!
Robyn the desk lady was absolutely rude you do t need to be rude.nwait time was 3hr but doesn’t make sense in how the system works I thought first in first to go you know like a order not pick an choose once you’ve seen the nurse and what really is the point of going if there just gonna give u the most basic pain med and tell u to rest
