Brilliant, truly authentic Mexican restaurant. The best Mexican food I've had in the UK. The new winter menu has some real winners- we tried the pescadillas, sopa azteca, shrimp tacos and chicken mole and they were all superb. The shrimp tacos were especially delicious served with a spicy chipotle mayo. Lovely cocktails as well and reasonably priced.
We had a lovely evening at Cielito! An intimate space, beautifully decorated. The team were so attentive and helpful with menu questions and it just seemed to have a cosy and friendly atmosphere. We had margaritas & Mexican beers to drink, the margaritas were absolutely awesome, refreshing and delicious- we tried the original ‘Tommy’s Margarita’ and mango. Proper Mexican beer, my husband enjoyed them. The food was OUTSTANDING- authentic, freshly seasoned, freshly prepared & cooked to order which just makes it all the more tasty. If you’re looking for real authentic Mexican food with all the flavours, you must try Cielito!
First time visiting after being recommended, absolutely fantastic authentic food! Spicy margaritas were amazing! Will definitely be back. As a small business owner myself, it’s so wonderful to see a family business being run. Many thanks to our waiter too! Thanks so much for my birthday churros!
Great hidden gem in Virginia Water...me and my girlfriend popped in last night to check the place out after hearing about it through friends. Would definitely recommend the Watermelon Margaritas. We had a selection of starters followed by the beef and pork tacos along with the beef fajitas. The beef was delicious, it's not advertised on the menu but after chatting with one of the staff members it turned out it was Wagyu, which made sense seeing how great it was. Lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere, highly recommend checking this hidden gem out!
Having previously enjoyed the quality of a take away from this restaurant, we booked a table for 3 on a Thursday evening. The restaurant wasn’t busy on arrival, we sat outside, it was immediately apparent the table hadn’t been cleaned. We had to ask for the table to be wiped and then ask for menus. Whilst this was being done I went to the bar to order drinks & asked for a glass for the beer. The drinks were delivered, but without a glass for the beer, I asked for one, it never came, so I had to go to the bar to ask again. When the glass was delivered, it was hot, straight out of the dishwasher, so I gave up on the glass and drank from the bottle. The waitress came back & we said we were ready to order our meal, halfway through our order, she said she couldn’t remember everything, so had to go back in to get an ipad & we started ordering again. The waitress struggled to answer questions about the food. It took a very long time for our order to be delivered. At one point a male server came out, I asked if he was the manager, he said yes, promptly disappeared and came back with extra corn chips. Portions were small & expensive. The service slow & staff not engaged. At no point were we asked how our meal was. We felt disappointed, the service poor, but not bad enough to complain, in any case, the staff were so disinterested that there seemed little point in trying to complain. Sad, there are already too few restaurants & pubs in the area. We certainly won’t be back in a hurry.
I've been looking for a Mexican restaurant nearby for a long time and was so excited to find this place and read all the good reviews. I honestly don't understand how anyone could think this restaurant is in any way authentic or even remotely good. It was so disappointing. The guacamole was not much better than Waitrose readymade and the tortilla chips straight out of a packet. Both our main courses were lukewarm. The beans that came as a side had no flavour, no seasoning - it seemed to have been served straight out of a tin. There's a theme here! The rice was just plain old rice, with a few peas and carrots thrown in. Worst food I've had in 20 years. Pale, tasteless and on the cold side of lukewarm! And not cheap!
Lovely Mexican restaurant. Best Mexican food we’ve had. And couldn’t have enough margaritas, including the grapefruit based Paloma. Super friendly staff in a charming environment. You must try!
I genuinely believe the positive reviews on this restaurant, saying how amazing the food is, must be fake… Two margueritas, one guacamole and two main courses came to £70. The food was luke warm, bordering on cold. It was soggy, pale slop and must rank as one of the worst meals I’ve ever have the misfortune to pay for, at home or abroad. I sincerely hope this restaurant can make a go of it, but they’ll need to halve their prices and replace the chef. Cielito, up your game or go out of business fast. Sorry for the harsh review. P.S. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints there.
Such a lovely evening at Cielito, the restaurant has a lovely charming and friendly feel. The food is also amazing, true authentic Mexican, props to the chef. The service is also fantastic, could not fault the place. I would strongly recommend paying a visit! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options Parking: Loads of parking available at the front of restaurant.
We’ve been meaning to go for a while and finally got around it the other night. The staff are friendly and on the whole attentive and the Resturant itself is well presented, clean and comfortable. However, two issues need addressing. 1 The service was far too slow. We waited an age for our first course and actually asked for more chips while we were waiting. 2 Although the food was great tasting, the portions were very small. We will no doubt give this venue another try at some stage, by then I hope these issues have been sorted out. You have a nice little place here, we’d like to see you succeed - fingers crossed for you!
