CHUR is a FREE youth service providing health and social services for CHB young people.
The CHUR clinic is for Rangatahi to come in and see a registered nurse for FREE. It is confidential and can be about anything from sexual health, pregnancy testing, Contraception, helping to quit smoking, counselling or anything you feel you need to talk to someone about. We also have Alcohol and Drug counsellors and people who can help with living healthier like losing weight and doing a bit more exercise.
The other big part of the CHUR youth service is the NEETS/YP/YPP service which focuses on Rangatahi from the ages of 16 years to 18 and a half years (15 if you get an exemption from school). If you have left school or are struggling and needing help with your education we can find and provide courses for you or support you while you're stil at school.
Employment Plus is one of the courses available which helps you to achieve NCEA level 1 and 2 in an activity based learning.
Learning Innovations is another course which helps you to get your NCEA level 1,2,3 and university entrance.
We work alongside E.I.T which provide courses like Carpentry, Computers, Horticulture etc.
We can also arrange the Youth Payment (YP) and Young Parent Payment (YPP). The YP is for Rangatahi that are not living at home and are having financial problems. The YPP helps young parents financially while focusing on baby then while going back to education or to work.
Whatever you need if you are a CHB young person come and see us. We can help.
To keep young people healthy and happy, and in education or training - not needing to go on a benefit.
