The dementia unit in this facility is not even deserving of 1 star. The residents are left to aimlessly wander around the unit as there are no activities / games to keep them engaged, there are no comfortable places for residents and/or visitors to lounge and relax. Staff allow residents to sit & sleep all day which means they are awake and agitated during the night. Staff are untrained in effective resolution management strategies for the mood changes that are common in dementia patients. No responsibility or care is taken for residents property or private spaces especially knowing the patients are often incapable of protecting their own belongings including glasses, dentures etc. A drink that was spilt down a window was still evident and uncleaned 2 weeks later!! Staff often sit on phones conversing with each other rather than reacting to / engaging with patients. No time is taken to get to know patients interests prior to dementia. Medication often not given on time or to specification. Very difficult to get Dr to liaise with family.nAbsolutely appalling service - would not recommend!
The old folks will love this magnificent place. It has many rooms and the staff are very friendly and they provide one of the best care for all their tenants. At this home you will for sure enjoy the clear view of an early sunrise at dawn break with a lovely view of the pristine deep blue sea breaking softly on the white beaches in the early mornings. Great place to visit and to stay.
I love this place! It’s the only place I’d want to go to live out my final years, if I had to go anywhere other than where I am now. The staff are incredibly helpful & kind & have a whole lot of fun going on there. I could get my mischievous side out to play when I’m senior. The location is to die for... or should I say to live for, & some of the residents are a grand’s age indeed. A very nice place
This is the nicest home ever with absolutely amazing staff who do over and above the normal expectations, though of course can only do so much with their resources. The rooms are lovely, the management approachable. The food is great and the place is clean.nnWell done amberlea.
Lovely place, very scenic, elderly people would love it on first sight, kind carers and nurses.
