We had a very pleasant stay at the Cheviot Trust Hotel. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived.nThe room was clean, comfortable and well-presented, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The beds were comfortable and the overall environment felt cosy and peaceful.nThank you to the team for making us feel so welcome. We would happily stay again and recommend it to others visiting Cheviot.
The room was large and well equipped with hot drink making facilities and a good selection of toiletries. Very quiet and a very comfy bed.nWe had a drink in the bar and ate in the restaurant. I had T bone steak which was cooked perfectly to my liking of medium rare . My wife opted for the chicken melt. It was a large portion which she described as delicious.nGood friendly staff.nAn overall pleasant experience at a very reasonable price.
If you go to the restaurant, don’t order the steak. They offer beautiful Harris Farm rib-eye steaks for $36 but have no clue how to cook them.nnAttempt 1: the medium was served well done, tough and chewy; the medium rare was served medium well with the faintest hint of pink if you looked closely. Back they went with a polite and friendly request to please cook as ordered.nnAttempt 2: the medium was served rare see photo; the medium rare was served blue.nnWe don’t eat out a lot, with the meals and wine being well over $100 we won’t be back, and cannot recommend. Wait times and service were sub-par also. I guess that’s what you get when owned by a trust and not someone whose livelihood depends on good food and service to customers. Avoid.
We stopped in for bar snacks to take away. The food was great and very well-priced, if a little over salty. Service was good, and quick.
A party of 11 for dinner. All of the tables in the establishment were sticky. One of us had to ask for cleaning fluid and a cloth to attempt to unstick ourselves from the tables.nIt was partly due to the table surface deteriorating, but they were dirty too.nCheviot licencing trust you should be ashamed! If you cannot provide a clean establishment, close your doors. Our meals were average
