This shop is fantastic! A big shoutout to the security guard who went above and beyond by promising to 'look after' my 3-year-old grandson's bike while we shopped. He was super with the kids!
Free prescriptions & best value products. You need to know what you want as there's no staff available for advice. Most of the nail polishes had separated so difficult to see true colours.
Staff are always so rude, how they get away with it I don’t know. Especially the female pharmacist with a South African accent, and also the blonde pharmacist. When they’re in a bad mood they aggressively place meds on counter and ignore you. I’m a local and I’ve experienced this many times, and I know others who have had the same treatment. I called them last week to ask if my repeat was ready and the South African woman said “I’m busy and you want me to go look when you could just come into store and ask, ugh fine hold on I’ll look” SO rude. Staff need to be spoken to.
I’ve always loved Chemist Warehouse and used to shop at many other branches without issue. Unfortunately, the Taupō store is unbearable to visit due to the overwhelming smell of perfume — the testers are placed right near the entrance, causing the scent to spread throughout the entire store. I’ve raised this concern twice, but staff don't seem to take it seriously.nnStrong artificial fragrance in a pharmacy environment poses a real problem for people with allergies, asthma, migraines, or chemical sensitivities — all of which are increasingly common. The area around the tills, right next to the perfume section, is so heavily scented that it's unbearable for people with sensitivities — some, like myself, simply can't shop there anymore.nnThis issue doesn’t occur in other branches, and it's especially disappointing given that this is a pharmacy, which should a safe and accessible space for people with health issues — not one that makes them feel unwell or excluded. I really hope management reconsiders the store layout. All that's needed is a bit of thought about where the perfume is located.
