Chelsea Sugar Refinery

We came for lunch last Sunday. The wait time for our table wasn’t bad considering the amount of people there enjoying the beautiful weather. We really enjoyed the selection of food and purchased some of the delicious cabinet food to take home. We had booked in for the Cup Cake decorating class which we really enjoyed. Rae our tutor was just lovely and made it a very relaxed, no pressure learning environment which helped us enjoy our afternoon. We were surprised how quickly we achieved the skills and tips she taught. We highly recommend the class & cafe and look forward to doing it again. Thanks Rae, you are an amazing teacher and the perfect person for this role.

Took my Grandson's to visit Cafe. Had a good time virtually cooking. Boys had fun. Lovely Cafe. Nice Friendly Staff. Food was very nice. We will go back & book Factory Tour & Train ride I will tell my friends & family to go.

The food was great! Staff was also wonderful! We were late for our mini tour and they were not full so they fit us into another time slot after our lunch. My seafood chowder is so so good! I could have it again right now! The kids menu is nice as well and my son reckon there should be another piece of waffle because he loved it so much. We were also able to step off the little pink train for the tour which we were unable to last time we’re here.

I bought one of their products because there was a fancy tempting sticker on it to win a share of $50,000 today. When attempting to enter the draw I got a message that the promotion was ended 09/22. This is a fraud in my opinion, you tempt a customer to buy a product based on a a false alarm! Either recall those with stitches or continue promoting until those with a sticker are all sold!

Great little place to sit outside and enjoy the great views of Auckland, good well priced menu. Real pain that to sit outside you have to have take away, which is not very good as using takeaway containers, takeaway cups, plastic knives and plastic forks which may be compostable but a huge waste. Server was quite pushy too trying to upgrade us all the time

The cabinet items are really good, especially the lamington. The food is good but it could be much better. The biggest issue, they don't change their menu as often as they should. If you are a frequent customer like me, the menu can get boring easily. Great environment for family with kids.

This is a place that we usually visit but we were very disappointed on our last visit today. We are told off by the manager for no reason. We ordered two large plates for 2 persons but my friend did not want to drink tea. So I asked the staff if it is all right to share with her just a little bit because I did not want to waste a whole pot of tea. She was kindly accepted and gave us an extra cup. However later on the manager got mad when we were paying. She humiliated us by saying it was just a $5 tea and why we wouldnt buy another one. The way of her talking was very rude. My friend was wearing a scarf and she glanced at her badly. I was so disappointed because the place, the food and all other staff are so lovely. This manager doesn't suit there. She ruined our day.

We went there around 3pm after the rush time. The staff said we should wait for the seat for about 5 to 10mins even though there were lots of seats available we could see. In the end he brought us right next to the reception. I one-stepped away from the seat we got, and had a look whether the other seat area was available or not. Once he saw me and then said " Excuse me, what are you doing?" He literally expressed that he is not comfortable I took a look for other seats and then told us he could move us when other seats were available. The cafe was totally quiet at the moment I was about to ask him to move us when it was available politely but he was so defensive and aggressive. Oh my goodness, then we were upset and told him we wanted to get just a couple of takeaway coffee cause we did not want to stay there anymore. He charged 30 cents each more. I realised they never surcharged for takeaways. There is no sign about the surcharge even on the menu. Was it an extra cost for naive asian customers? That staff was so rude and unreasonable. I was really disappointed about this. I am so sad I lost one of my favourite cafes.

Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. They even offered me a seat while I'm waiting for my daughter's baking class. Their coffee and food are all good so far! Love the place, the ambiance, baking class and their staff.

Went for a fathers day cooking class. Fantastic! Great site , amazing staff. Didnt get into the cafe but that food being tabled looked amazing, and the cabinet stock was amazing. They also offer tours and have an outdoor playground and grass area. Parking on site too.
