It's a wonderful public resource full of beautiful and interesting things... what's not to like! Plus, at the moment it's practically empty cos if covid restrictions so as long as you've got a free ticket, you can enjoy everything without big crowds which, in my book, makes it even better :
A must visit when in Melbourne. Even though it was school holidays it wasn’t over crowded, and lines moved fast. Everyone wore face masks and social distanced as much as possible. Triennial is a must see if you can see it while it’s on. 10/10.
They really nailed it with Trienniel. This one would suit pretty much anyone of any age. Such a wonderful selection and FREE. Just what us Melbourne folk needed after being denied such amazing events for most of 2020. Thank you so much NGV.
The triennial is a scream. So much to see.. Easy to spend two days here. Do yourself and your family a favour and go. There's something for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.
Visit the NGV Triennial exhibition. It's great how they have juxtaposed modern art with classic pieces. Well worth a visit. And look outside on the seashell waterfall for the tiny installations on the moss.
