There’s never a wait and if there is, it’s minimal. Toilets that are close by are clean and tidy but are locked after hours. Short walk to BP, FourSquare, bakeries and maccas for food.
Love this charging station! It is at a bus station so there is a newish toilet block with many toilets, each with its own sink. Also, there are lots of options nearby for refreshments and a small park with benches. And the double CCS 300kW superfast charger is a bonus!
There's multiple chargers here to use with different kw power and plugs. We used the 300kw, fast and not that more expensive per kw than the 50kw.nnChargers are located in an open carpark, so easy access and theres toilets available nearby in the community centre, and also a cafe where you can grab a coffee while waiting.nnWe were lucky to arrive with no others there, but within a short time afterward, several other cars arrived.nnWe charged to 100% as we were travelling back to the Waikato. Unfortunately, we encountered a rude lady here while charging, wanting to charge her car using the 300kw charger we were connected to. So please, be patient and wait your turn.nnLesson here for us is next time we'll go grab a coffee while it's charging.
I saw many people use this facility, using different types of electric vehicles. You have to download the app to use it but people didn't seem to mind and were able to charge their vehicles quickly and easily. I observed this whilst waiting for my Intercity bus.nIt is close to great public toilets and a shopping centre too. Bulls is a great little place to look around whilst waiting for your vehicle to charge.
Note that there are two chargers here, the larger one is 300kW and it was 5c per kWh more expensive than its 50kW sibling. The charging cables on the 300kW are also very heavy. Not a covered site, so you’ll need a coat if raining. Food and drink options very close.nnOften full of Teslas which is ironic given there is a great six bay Tesla Supercharger that works with other brand EV only 100 metre away on the other side of SH1.
