Frances was absolutely amazing. Communication was timely and helpful and they went above and beyond to help me decide options of books and shipping, including providing clear price breakdowns. The books arrived to Canada in excellent condition and well packaged. I am so appreciative of their willingness to ship outside of New Zealand and how easy they made it. I would definitely buy from this store again as they were absolutely lovely to work with.
I've been buying from Frances for about 15 years before online orders were a thing! She and the staff are honestly so amazing and always go out of the way to provide the best possible experience. Highly recommend a visit or purchase for anyone who loves books and tea! Chapter will always be my go to place, they're so good you never need to go anywhere else!
Absolutely love this place. Service is amazing, the tea selection is overwhelming. Store has a friendly and inviting atmosphere. And online orders are done so quickly. Really feel as customers comes first.
I don't have the heart to leave you anything other than 5 stars - but you lost customers today. I came with my family to sit and have drinks, but there was a local Mt Eden guy with the long white beard just sitting at the outside table doing his business on his cell phone without ordering or drinking anything. The staff told me he had been there a long time without ordering. We can only sit outside because we're immunocompromised. We asked staff if they could maybe speak to him, but they ignored that. I understand if your staff is intimidated by him. But your shop is small, you've only got one outdoor table, and your tea is incredible. So you should definitely be sorting out people who occupy your space for ages without buying anything. We went down the block, had a sad inferior tea, walked back by and he was STILL there.. still with nothing on the table. Your patrons are counting on you to control this behaviour from inconsiderate people like this. Otherwise we can't visit your shop. It takes a lot for us to go out - it's not easy with a baby. So when this happened it was quite disappointing.
This is a healing place where you can find comfort with teas and reading. In a world that is filled with fizzy drinks and devices, Chapter Book & Tea Shop constantly reminds us where we are from. The small shop is full of love and happiness that is just like a small community hub where patrons enjoy their brewed teas and indulgence of reading. We need more places like this!
Staff are so lovely, cheap beverages, super nice and cosy. Best chai latte ever, only $6 for a small jug which was very generous about three cups worth.
Had a try of their hot chat latte and matcha latte in cold the other day. Both tatsed absolutely silky and smooth. Spent a peaceful and relaxing afternoon there reading some books and daydreaming for a bit. Would love to go again some time in the weekend!! Definitely recommend this place to all ages!! :
Amazing experience! I live in the USA but was told I could order signed Nalini Singh books from them. I reached out to Frances who was more than happy to help me out! I was able to order 4 signed and personalized books for my sister with shipping to the USA. It made my sister so happy to get signed books from an author she’s been a long time fan of and Frances was incredible and so friendly throughout the entire process!
Best place for a quiet read and an amazing range of books. Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing.
I love going here for Harney and sons lose lead tea, great price for premium tea. They also have a good selection of romance books and are happy to order them in for you, which just gives me an excuse to drink lots of tea so I need to refill my tin again when I go to pick up my book. They also have some nice cabinet food and tables to eat in. Great atmosphere and service.
