Always one step ahead of the fashion play, Centrepoint Fabrics has served the public for over 30 years. We know our product better than most. Owned by Meegan Pollock, whose father Gordon Pollock owned the famous Barker & Pollock, Meegan's career started when she was a young girl in the school holidays - and the rest is history - it was her destiny!

Nice collection of reasonably priced fabrics, some real bargains in the end of roll deals. The staff leave you alone until you look lost and then they don't hesitate to help. Good selection of buttons and fasteners, and they have enough different types of elastic that you can get what you need. They have 3 off street parks so you can normally get one during the day.
Best fabric store I've ever been into! The largest selection and amazing prices... I spend lot a lot but all were bargains and if I was local this would be my go to fabric supplier! Such helpful staff-a pleasure to shop at and recommend.
I visited with a NZ designer looking for bridesmaid dress fabric. They kindly held the fabric for 24 hours so my bridesmaid could see the fabric before I purchased it. Three days after my purchase, the fabric is no longer required. I visited today to see what options were available to me. The first assistant said we will not take the fabric back. I was talking to her when suddenly an older blonde lady aggressively appeared, shaking her finger at me, telling me about the consumer guarantees act, relaying her business troubles with customers and what a dreadful state Newmarket retail was in. A tirade was directed at me. I was hoping for professional negotiation, not this! They did offer me a store credit. The rudeness was abhorrent.
This store is simply AMAZING. Such a huge variety of fabrics and amazing trims, beads, ribbons and more! I can't believe they don't have a store here in Wellington, but when I can't get to Auckland the amazing staff send me pictures and samples so I can order over the phone and get the fabrics sent to me. Does it get any better than this!!!??? Thank you centrepoint!! and thank you AJ and Angela these lovely girls are so helpful along with the rest of the staff!!
Megan, was wonderful! Came in to get my fabric for my wedding dress. Megan was not only knowledgeable but very helpful in finding the right fabrics for me whilst giving me better vision in what I want as a wedding dress. Thank you!
Wow, the reviews are true!! What a fabulous store, beautiful extensive range of fabrics and trims ect. But... The service is OUTSTANDING... I cannot speak highly enough about my experience here today, I'm not a great sewer, the lady's were patient, knowledgable , helpful and really kind. Much appreciated!!
What an eye opener for fabrics. Only thing is that I was knew what I had in my mind for my outfit but I wasn't sure which fabric would be suitable and the lady who served me wasn't the most friendliest either. She knew her stuff, without a question. But I felt I was an inconvenience to her. When I went back and was served by someone else, my experience was much better :-
If you are a keen sewer or want a special dress made, this is a fabric store that you must visit. The fabrics can turn over quickly so it's a place to visit often and the staff are amazingly helpful if you aren't sure how much you need.
Stocked a luscious deep red polar fleece for my sweatshirt. But no black for my lady. Did not have any matching ribbing either. Shop will be moving around the corner soon.
NOT RECOMMENDED! Extremely bad service. Ordered three patterns, only had one in stock, so back ordered the other two on 10/08/13. Waited weeks and weeks. Called mid September, only one pattern arrived, it was explained that more was been manufactured in Australia. No call back. Finally, 12/10/13 9 WEEKS LATER!, end of my patience, went to store to collect the one pattern, after 10mins trying to find my order, turns out they did have it stock. No apology received. Unacceptable.
