Not huge but quite a cool space. I liked that it has several art stations to make it fun for the children. There seem to be a mini amazing race on space going on.. its nice to see the kids running about the museum, finding answers.nnThe museum, is mostly about the godrush that happened in the area. The history, the equipments and what happened after.nI enjoyed the titbits on the rabbits-problem NZ had faced and how they supported WW1 through canning rabbits. Lol.
It is a lovely free museum to visit. Highly recommend!nnAlexandra is famous for the gold discovered nearby during the last century.nnNow it is significant with horticulture and the stone-fruit industry, which is celebrated by a blossom festival in the town each spring.nnThe first orchards planted provided fruit for the mining community.nnNow, nectarines, apricots, cherries, peaches, plums and apples are grown and sold for both New Zealand and export markets. Seasonal work picking fruit is available during the summer and many tourists and Pacific Islanders come to New Zealand to work in Alexandra.nnIt is apparent, that there is more bustling economic activity here in Alexandra, with more cafes and restaurants than the nearby towns of Cromwell and Clyde combined.
Central Stories Museum is great place to visit, staff is supper help and nice, we walk in the museum few minutes before door close at 4pm, but he allowed us to continue enter because he still some tidy works to do, instread he could turn us away. Museum is free entry. Excellent.

Really well laid out. Great displays particularly about gold mining and the fruit industry. Well worth a visit
