Had a lovely lunch here on the drive through to Dunedin. Homemade tomato soup was yummy, eggs Benedict was nicely presented and we were able to order a vegan breakfast which was also tasty. The coffee was good. The service was efficient and pleasant even though they were busy. Thank you!Food: 5/5
A great place to stop for a meal, a snack or a drink. Good food and serviceFood: 5/5
Food was lovely. Had the open beef burger and salt and pepper squid with cippx and salad. Great value. Well prepared. Toasted bun. It will probably be a while before we are down this way again. But we will be back when we have opportunity. Recommended.Food: 5/5
In search of coffee to go, we ended up here as the other cafés in town were closed. It looks rather unremarkable and the google review is 'only' 3.9/5. My goodness, they deserve better. The coffee and the cakes were excellent, and the staff were so lovely! I found out afterwards that the owners changed 2 months before. They are now still suffering from a worse rating before, I guess. Give them a chance!
Pies are out of this world delicious and huge... yes you pay more but it's worth every cent!! Yummy carrot cake too. Warm cafe with fire going. Helpful staff.
Busy friendly staff. I quickly ordered nachos that came as large plate of cheap plain corn chips and a little melted cheese and very ordinary sour cream . I could have got loaded but thought they would be too big a meal. Not realising the $15. Ones I got had nothing.
Stopped off here whilst touring the area. Lovely cafe with friendly staff that is very fitting to the area. The coffee was awesome, the cake was lovely but the star of this visit was the Lqmb and Mint pie. Exactly what a pie should be……lots of tasty meat with crispy pastry……a meal in itself. Wish they had pies like this back home in the UK. Bloody lovely and thank you
Stopped to grab a Coffee at the coffee cart, sign said to go inside. Got 2 cuppas and 2 slices of cake. Shocked at price, the tiny size of cake. Both slices of different cakes were undercooked, doughy. The woman who served us was growling another woman in the kitchen something about toothpicks in the cakes. The older man making our coffees kept loudly, rudely and unnecessary telling a little girl to shutup...not be quiet but SHUTUP! Until she went out to the kitchen. In such a small place with so many other options we definitely will be choosing another Café.
Terrible coffee. The cafe must have changed owners since our last visit. Was awful. Tasted like dirt, way too hot and was overpriced.
Staff were very friendly but food is very expensive for what we ended up with. Ordered "the works" steak burger that said it had rib-eye steak in it, was barely a piece of schnitzel it was so thin and asked for a chicken burger with everything but no beetroot but ended with with only lettuce and beetroot. Carrot cake was really yummy but again so expensive so such a small piece.
