We used the park and ride service to get to the start of the walk. The walk itself is undulating but pleasant and the cove was pretty. However, it was very busy so come at dawn/dusk if you want tranquillity and good photos.
Be prepared for a hike with hills for a couple miles, it was really hot when we went so having a bathing suit would have been nice. The views are beautiful
Stunning beach. Be aware the sea can be a bit choppy and attempt to remove your swim wear. The walk down/ up can be a bit hot in the summer, and tiring if you aren’t very fit. We were lucky that there was an ice cream van half way on our return, which distracted us from the hill!
If you go here and don't want to do hiking,can use water taxi from hahei beach 40 per person for return. Hiking took around 45min,water taxi less than 10min, so the choice is yours.
Fave place in the Coromandal! My advice is..wear sneakers and pack swimming gear, snacks and drinks for the walk. Wish I had known this as I discovered it's not a fun walk in jandals but is an amazing swimming spot on a hot day! Looking forward to going back
Definitely worth a visit, a beautiful beach with decent waves, soft and comfortable sand with a spectacular view perfect for pictures. The walk to cathedral cove is 30-40 minutes with lots of incline and decline. Definitely can work up a bit of a sweat in the sun. Most of the walk has shade. Can do the walk in jandals, even barefoot if you're brave. Would recommend walking the track in shoes and bring along slippers for the beach, along with water as well.
Love this place could sit here for hours and hours just looking at the landscape. The water is so blue. The walkway to the cove is also a great one. Beauty whichever direction you choose to look. Photographers dream.
Worth to visit, its a bit long walk to reach the beach but you will not regret it once you see the amazing view
Visited in October 2022 - Cathedral Cove is such a remarkable spot! Suggest starting as early in the day as possible as it can get quite busy.
Great spot to spend a couple hours for a walk, it would be great to have an electric scooter to go up and down with if your lazy, probably a good idea for a company to have them present.
