Story

La Catedral de San José se localiza en Dunedin, Nueva Zelanda, es la catedral católica de la Diócesis de Dunedin. Se encuentra ubicada en el suburbio de City Rise, a unos 0,5 kilómetros al oeste del centro de la ciudad.La catedral gótica del renacimiento fue diseñada por Francis Petre, que también más tarde, en un cambio total de estilo de renacimiento paladiano diseño otras catedrales en el país.La construcción de la catedral comenzó en 1878, durante el episcopado del obispo Patrick Moran. Visited in the afternoon around 4pm. The side entry door to the church was open. We went inside and it was dark - we were unable to locate the light switch so we left. The Gothic look of the church is very picturesque.
Great architecture.. close to CBD Worth a visit
Great preservation of Neo-gothic architecture. No need for a modern sound system because the walls reverberate the voices of the choir and pipe organ music. Stained glass windows of the Saints are beautiful. There's one distinct but hardly noticeable different window. That of St. Dominic and his sister St. Catherine. This window was made for the Dominican Order. Parish priest is also very friendly and approachable.
Nice church but limited seats inside so do not be late for the mass!

A lovely catholic church in Dunedin, and only have limited number of seats inside. Parking on the ground is also limited, though you can find on street parking in the area. If you want a bit of exercise, you can walk to here.
Amazing Palm Sunday Mass with Bishop as Host priest.
Awesome place. Wife wanted to visit while we were in Dunedin as her Great Grandparents were married there in 1932.
Love to go to this church every 7pm Saturday evening. It was not open at 7pm anymore.
