Have had many happy stays here over the past few years. Clean and quiet. Had a problem with pee smell in my cabin when I last stayed, last year, but moved to another cabin. Would love to stay again, but price of cabins too high now.
Not far from the center of Carterton is this wonderfully quiet campsite with a large meadow and secluded parking bays surrounded by hedges. The owners are very accommodating; nothing is too much trouble for them. They like people without being intrusive. The entire site is lovingly maintained without being fussy. The sanitary facilities are exceptionally clean, and the kitchen is perfectly equipped and tidy. Showers cost $1 for 5 minutes. The shower heads have been descaled and are extremely pleasant. The washing machine and tumble dryer work perfectly, but you can also go straight outside to the clothes rack, where the laundry dries beautifully thanks to a gentle breeze. All in all, one of the best places in New Zealand at an exceptionally fair price. A few meters from the entrance is a small shop where you can buy the essentials. Thank you again for the lovely stay.
Camping over Easter and found this campground really nice. Clean facilities, nice flat areas for pitching tents, kitchen is clean and tidy. They allow dogs and there's a field next door where you can take them for walks accessed by a gate in the campground.
My 2 girls with their families and myself stayed in the motel units/cabins for the 2nd time in winter. It's so handy to Greytown mid winter festival, and we see the seals at cape palliser on the way home. Wonderful place to stay, cooked our meals in the communal kitchen. The kids loved the little playground and we all had a great time, didn't want to leave. Highly recommend
What a beautiful campground, unbelievable!! The best on our 4 weeks trip through NZ!!! Everything is so clean and well organized. The owners are so friendly and helpfull. There is even music at the sanitary. Will really recommend this campsite with nice flowers and trees.
