Nice meal and delicious wines. The views are also quite nice. It can be quite busy during lunch time so book ahead. A little on the pricey side but a recommended stop during an Otago wine tour.
A wonderful experience within the most Fabulous environment. Hosts were warmly welcoming with good wines and a most enjoyable platter. I will be back in March 2023. Valerie Attrill
Amazing food, wine and views. So enjoyed our lunch here. Highly recommend the lamb rump
We had a lovely lunch from the Carrick Pizza caravan today with great friendly service from the staff. It was also great to receive extra help from the owners when we had an accident with a Pizza. Love the views and atmosphere and as we are locals will visit often and take all our visitors to Cromwell with us.
Lovely, lovely, lovely oh and did I say lovely. A wonderful birthday lunch, great food and great service with a spectacular view, as other reviews say it can be busy so I recommend to book - a must stop if on a tour of the vineyards or for that matter any reason.
We have dined at Carrick for a number of years and never been dissatisfied. Excellent food, presentation, wine and service. However this afternoon was a whole new experience. Out on the lawn with friends, kids, pizza, drinks, music and a whole new level of service. Not often you get the owners of a large vineyard/restaurant taking the time to talk with different groups. Plenty of space for everyone and so relaxed. We are very lucky to have the Cleland family and staff!
Went for the Valentine’s Day degustation. The food was delicious but the servings were tiny. I also would have preferred my food to be served on a plate for each person, rather than a shared plate, but perhaps that would have looked too small on the plate. We have been many times before and loved it, but I would not do a set menu again.
No better place to be on a nice summer day. Perfect location and excellent food. It's pricey, but worth it. Make sure you book ahead if you plan to eat at the restaurant. They have a wine and pizza trailer if the restaurant is booked.
Terrible hospitality. The restaurant’s hours are 10am-5pm, but if you show up at 3pm, like we did, they won’t serve you hot food, only cheese/meat platters. We were instead invited to order pizza from their food truck outside and buy wine from inside the restaurant. When our pizza was ready we tried to take it to the restaurant patio, because my elderly father was uncomfortable sitting in the unsupported chairs by the food truck and we had bought wine from the restaurant. They hurried out to tell us we couldn’t have pizza on the patio because it clashes with their fine dining… which ended at 3pm and we weren’t allowed to have… meanwhile dogs were allowed on the patio but not people with pizzas. The lady in the pizza truck was very nice though.
We stopped at Carricks on our way back from Cornish Point trail ride. Location - the restaurant has a lovely outlook and plenty of green space for kids to play on. It looked like they may also have picnic mats for those that would like to sit on the lawn and take in the views. Food - we ordered the duck confit and lamb racks. The duck confit was refreshing and the lamb racks were nicely frenched and prepared. Both meals were yummy. Service - generally the service was good but the wait for our food took about 45 minutes. This took the sparkle off what would have been a lovely experience. As a result, we dropped our rating to a 4 star.
