We had the team from CC South Melb quote and install our new shutters for our heritage house. The service, quality of product and attention to detail was first class. I would highly recommend them as they are a family run business who actually care about their customers.
We had a laminated floor fitted to our Port Melbourne house. My short review: we wish we'd never hired thee people. They have no customer focus and a terrible quality of workmanship. The details: We decided to go with one of their products. They sent a contractor round to measure up. We then had to chase them for the quote. We had to chase and chase again to have questions answered. But as soon as we said we'd like to book them in for installation they responded quickly. Should have seen the signs. The fitters took five hours to cut the boards around the fireplace. Then had to rush the rest of the job. The floor buckled in three places. The threshold came off. They sent a different fitter team to repair their bad workmanship. But it took nearly two months for them to come back. It's a ten minute walk to the showroom from the house. That team left us with nothing much better. So we decided to cut our losses. Their attention to detail is pathetic. Mitre joints don't match properly. Edge trims are uneven and missing/cut short in places. I honestly don't think the guys sent to do the job knew how to do it properly. They kept asking me for screwdrivers and knives and cloths. Not that it should matter but the guy who measured up was Anglo in a normal ute. The fitters were Asian and struggled to communicate with us and had a van that hardly looked safe- it leaned noticeably to one side and didn't have lot of equipment in it to cause the lean.. They also ground down small area of concrete to make the floor fit better and left us that evening without cleaning up. We had to wipe everything down ourselves and dispose of their packaging, offcutsof flooring, even their lunch wrappers and wash the sofa covers before we could move the furniture back into place. Honestly, go somewhere else. Don't waste your money or your time with these people.
I had a great experience in buying carpet through South Melbourne Carpet Court. Sharon, Jason and team were really helpful, great with information about the products, and gave sensible, practical advice. The end result is luscious carpet that looks beautiful, feels so soft and is easy to spot clean from cat fur balls. I'm super happy with the whole process.
Could not be happier with the service and end result. I had most of my place recarpeted and Jason and team were really helpful, professional and easy going to deal with. You’re in safe hands and the end result is top notch.
Thanks Sharon and Jason for such an amazing experience. The transaction was so simple and seamless, including the after-hours consults you both attended. The South Melbourne showroom by far surpasses other Carpet Courts. It's a true testament to effort you put it and passion you have for making your customers' house a home. Installation was seamless. Carpets out and floors in the Thursday, new carpets in on the Friday, some additional work on the Saturday and we moved in on the Sunday. The installation team were sensational and the house was absolutely spotless! You truly went above and beyond and transformed our home. See for yourself - the spotted gum floors look sensational!
Disappointing experience - avoid at all costs. In summary, they took 4 weeks to provide quote & date for flooring & carpet installation. When first visiting them at the start of October, we let them know that we had a 2 week timeframe in late November to get the work done, and they let us know that they could accommodate for the date range given that we enquired early. When getting the measurements done, their staff member didn't bring the correct wood sample we chose not a big deal. I had to follow up multiple times with the store on the quote, and when finally receiving the quote, they let me know after the fact that the measurer didn't factor in skirting to be removed for the floorboards despite him saying we wouldn't need to have this removed. Given the delay in receiving the quote, they couldn't secure the timeframe we asked about when speaking with them 4 weeks prior. Their overall attitude was pretty poor when relaying my experience with them - seems like this is a common issue with them as they weren't phased by us taking our business elsewhere. I hope this is helpful for anyone considering using them.
Disgusting! Called them back to fix short boarding issues and edging not even attached or missing. Now squeeking flooring. The business owner offered to come and look at the problem AGAIN. No thanks. No refunds offered, just temp patch up jobs. Would never even look once at a Block property with these clowns doing flooring! The owner also sent me a very unprofessional msg.
I rang up and had a quote with carpet court i told them I’m coming down from Sydney in middle of December to replace the carpet in a one bedroom apartment only in bedroom so over 6 weeks notice, they wanted me to wait 3 monthsI have never seen a place that doesn’t want money I couldn’t believe it Blaming it on covid shortages etc time of year, so rang around and found another company that would do it around that time, don’t waste your time and money simply because they don’t want money.
Be aware if things go wrong with your installation, communication and restorative action are very difficult. We had a carpet laid in April 21, the carpet was not checked and consequently had a fault which meant extra joins when laid we paid for premium carpet not a second. After numerous telephone calls and promises to "ring us Back" when free, we never got those calls. Six months later, finally had a visit where these matters where sort of addressed. Mats were promised and a team to fix the holes in the edges of the carpet that were damaged in the initial laying. More phone calls made, no answers. Finally a trip into the store after six months were finally mats appeared and the carpet fixing team promised to make an appointment. Christmas now and still no appointment made to fix the damage. Overall communication with this store extremely disappointing. We went with this local store even though they were the most expensive quote we received when choosing our new carpet. Cannot recommend from our experience.
The good, the bad and the ugly As with any purchase, it’s all about the customers overall experience and I’d have to say that our experience with carpet Court overall was woeful. Our Initial in store experience with Harrison at the South Melbourne facility was a good, helpful, a professional service which was why we paid a deposit and booked. We were told we would have to wait awhile for the stock to arrive and we were content with that. First we were booked to get our kitchen floor replaced, we were told the job would take one day. We live in an apartment with a tiny kitchen. The kitchen floor was started on Friday 17th June and completed On the 22nd June FIVE days later!! Why because the corker didn’t arrive for five days to finish the job. Why wasn’t he booked in for the same day? For five days our FRIDGE sat in the middle of our lounge room as it couldn’t be moved back into the kitchen until the floor was finished. We were told the corker had been given our number and would call us, no carpet Court we did not pay you thousands of dollars in a deposit to have to deal with your Tradies, that is not our job that is your job! And incidentally this person never called us we had to call carpet Court again and we had to wait five days with a fridge stuck in the middle of our tiny apartment! Two days later we were booked in to get our carpets replaced. On the 23rd June! Now remember we have waited MONTHS for this booking MONTHS! We have paid THOUSANDS in our deposit! And on the date booked the Carpet layers didn’t turn up, no phone call from carpet court no advance warning just a NO SHOW! There was no communication from carpet court, once again we had to call them, our apartment was in an absolute mess because we had moved furniture and packed things into boxes, it had to stay that way for an extra two weeks because the carpet layers didn’t show and they couldn’t book us in for another two weeks! We had taken TWO Days LEAVE OFF work we had booked the building supervisor to organise lifts, orientation and parking, we had moved furniture around, packed away stuff our home is a war zone. No carpet, no carpet layers, no apology nothing! No reasons other than the “carpet layers pulled the plug” Like I said the worst experience with a retailer in my entire life. The company follow up, attention to detail, customer service & satisfaction was in this instance woeful. The most important thing is setting up a customer expectation, if you tell a customer a job will take one day then it should take one day, if a customer waits MONTHS for a booking TURN up or have a standby plan don’t just blame others. The buck stops with you! A customer doesn’t pay for excuses, we pay for a service, part of our service eventuated over FIVE days instead of one and the other part of our service was null & void for an extra two weeks! The worst experience possible carpet court had our money, our carpet, It’s was a disgrace! When the new carpet layers finally arrived two weeks later they were very professional, friendly and did an excellent job however given the experience the overall experience we had with this company I’m not sure I would ever want to put myself through that again. All up we both took four days leave, we lived in a war zone for two weeks because we had packed stuff away and the carpet layers didn’t arrive. There was no apology and no compensation, we were not called after the job had been completed and asked if we were satisfied with it, yet we were of course sent an invoice with the money that we owed. Carpet court needs to learn from our experience and understand that communication is the key setting up expectation and following through is all part of the customer experience.
