Welcome to Card Girl.

Thank you for joining me here and allowing me to share my love for craft and design.

I’m Lisa Hawes, founder of Card Girl, mum of two girls and a campaigner for sending handmade cards to loved ones.

Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved receiving something in the mail. I guess I take after my nana, she would always send me the most amazing letters with such encouraging words. They were always covered in little stickers, hearts, bits cut out of magazines and newspapers - sending and receiving handmade smiles is such joy!

I have been recording memories in a visual way since I was a little girl and have always been a collector of notebooks, stationary, fabrics, ribbons, paper flowers etc!

More recently since having my two little girls, we are always doing something crafty. They will sit for hours drawing, cutting, pasting and generally having the best time ever! I guess thats where my idea for the little “Paper Doll Kits” has been come from.

Bringing kids back to the kitchen table to be creative, have fun making stuff. I love that kids can be kids and let their imaginations run wild!
