Welcome to the Canterbury Horse & Pony Breeders Society Facebook Page.
Welcome to the Canterbury Horse & Pony Breeders Society website. The Canterbury Horse & Pony Breeders Society was formed in 1974 to encourage and develop the breeding of horses and ponies of all kinds in the Canterbury Area and to further the interests of all persons engaged in such breeding.
The Society organises two shows annually - a Ridden and In hand show in October, especially designed for young horses & ponies and /or inexperienced riders. The second show is held in February each year, it is for registered breeding stock and progeny.
The Canterbury Horse & Pony Breeders Society committee is made up of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and six other committee members elected at the AGM, by members of the society, and eight representatives nominated by the founding breed societies. In the absence of representatives from the founding societies, extra committee members may be elected at the AGM by members of the Society.
