Nice ,safe overnight stopnToilets are clean, with dish wash sink , cold water. Parking lot , so enough space. Did not see a limit to amount of vehicles that could park. No dump stations or showers. Next to sports grounds , off main road so you can at least get a Good night sleep.
Place was nice enough and toilets clean. Level sites. Plenty of room.nThey had a function that night in the clubhouse. Noisy till very late and then it must have been about 1.30am they turned on the bomb siren that they use for game half and full time. It went off for about 5 mins. Was bloody loud! But a funny story to tell :
Camping in Te Kauwhata is a pleasant experience with ample parking and excellent free facilities. The location offers a serene view of rugby pitches and nearby lakes, perfect for a peaceful getaway or a quick stopover. A great spot for budget-friendly travelers!
This is a camping site for all vehicles, close to the Rugby club, maintained by the local domain. Te Kauwhata is only about an hour drive from Auckland airport. A 5 dollar donation is requested for, quite justifiable, as the area has toilets, sink and a dumping station besides a cafe. Though the area for camping is marked, vehicles were seen in parking lots other than member lots. Tents were also seen.
Nice place to stay for a few nights 3 consecutive nights maximum, with water, toilets, electricity, nice view on the lake & surrounding hills,... Tested & approved
