Cambridge Montessori Pre-School

My son is the absolute most precious thing in my life. I am very lucky we got a spot in this nursery, where he is not just provided with a safe environment but with a staff that genuinely care and like to work with children. A place like this one is only as good as their staff, Alex and Mia run it beautifully. Marcia, Iris and Pilar are the key workers that we interact in IC and they are superb. I will be forever in debt for how much the care about my son and how much he's grown in their care.

My children have been very happy here, we love the family atmosphere and the friendly staff. Although it's the people that make a nursery great it has very good facilities too. The outdoor space is a sheltered, walled courtyard with lots of toys, bikes, slides and a climbing frame. There are also raised beds with herbs, flowers etc and a big fig tree, its a lovely space for the children to play in. Indoors is well thought out too, and there is a separate room for them to nap in which you don't always come across. I'd definitely recommend this nursery.

We heard a lot of good things about Montessori Cambridge from colleagues and acquaintances but unfortunately we did not have a chance or honour, by the look of it to get into this nursery. We got registered with Montessori in May 2018 and paid £60 registration fee. We wanted a full time place, nice and straight forward. I am not sure what exactly we paid for as we did not get any communication from the nursery in a year and a bit. Whenever I called for an update I was told that we will hear from the nursery in due course. At some point in January 2019 I was told that my son was at the top of the waiting list. That was encouraging. I did not hear from Montessori for 6 months and decided to phone now. In July it turns out that the groups for September are completed. We were invited in "to see if everything is still the same there and for the nursery to see if they can be of assistance". I just had to cancel this visit because it does feel that the nursery is reluctant to take my son for some reason. I know for a fact that people who applied after us got a place there. At the end of the conversation the manager said "in the future, if you have any queries, please contact us. I hope I will be of assistance". Not sure what assistance she was on about. Big question is why I had to pay £60. I did not get a feeling that these guys are people's people. Disappointed.

Wonderful nursery. We have two children there and they are very happy. The staff are deeply attentive and caring, the facilities are good, and the Montessori method has helped our boys make great progress.

By far the best nursery in Cambridge - loving staff, great facilities and Montessori aproach helping little ones grow into curious and confident adults. My little one was a very happy customer for two years before it was time to go to school!

The nursery I am assuming would have had all the time in the world to prepare for its opening and Ofsted review, but achieved a poor 'needs improvement' for its first review. The centre's manager is not a people person and not engaging at all, almost felt like that she hated her job and did not want to be there. The Montessori approach is great but this nursery needs new management to help promote the nursery to higher standard. The layout of the nursery aswell is questionable with no grass area for the kids except for some turf and play equipment outside. The inside of each classroom was dark and depressing. Information was not proactively shared and forthcoming, where every question my wife and I raised almost felt like it was being received as a nuisance by the nursery manager. The Directors definitely need to change management here. We wont be applying for this nursery, despite being told they have a waiting list if we wanted to get in - I dont see how they have a waiting list. This nursery could be so much more and would not hesitate in applying if it was.

The children are well looked after. It really helped my son to get a grip on basic maths.
