Story

Hi there, I'm Jenna and I am a cake maker working from my home in Motueka.
I started out my working career as a pastry chef apprentice and worked in the hospitality/baking/food industry for the best part of ten years until a injury caused me to take up a desk job.
But now I am Caking again!
I have very high standards for my work, and hold Baking Qualifications and Food Hygeine/Saftey Certifications- so even though my cakes are homemade, they are high quality, professionally made and safe!
I frost my cakes using Swiss Meringue Butter Cream, American Buttercream, and Ganach .
I am always working on other recipes so if you would like something special just ask!

Best wedding cake ever!! I'm so glad we went with Kwento. The cake was delicious and it was so gorgeous! Exactly what I wanted and our guests were so impressed. Maria was really easy to work with, and the price was incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend!
We ordered this BEAUTY of a cake about a month in advance. The Kwento team was amazing about communicating via email in order to accommodate the date and pick up. If you’re debating providing specifics about the decoration or letting them do their thing, I highly recommend giving them a concept to play with, and being open to a surprise. Also don’t wait too long to cut and eat it, it’s as delicious as it is pretty. Thank you again, it was the cherry on top pun intended of our garden party
These cakes are absolutely beautiful and you couldn’t imagine something tasting better than this cake looks, but it does! I had a wonderful experience picking up the cake I ordered for my moms birthday, very friendly shop and seamless pickup experience. We ordered the vanilla cardamom cake with salted caramel and it was such a hit, perfect balance of flavours. The icing was delicious! I’m not a crazy icing fan but it slapped, we finished the whole cake… can’t wait to order again and try their cake tasting!
Love!!!! I found this bakery online and was obviously caught by the beauty of them. I ordered the floral cake - filling was confetti cake with fresh strawberries; it was absolutely amazing. I have left overs from 4 days ago and it still tastes so good pick up was easy/ready on time, no complaints Would definitely order again!
I got a vegan birthday cake for two of my best friends and the decor was amazing! Probably one of the cutest cakes I’ve ever bought. The only reason for the 4 stars is both of them found the “buttercream” frosting to be more on the salty side making it a little less enjoyable from other vegan cakes we’ve tried. Besides that, I would still come here to buy their cakes and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute cake. The customer service was also a 10/10! Thanks again :
Love the attention to details in the cake we bought from Kwento. Gave her a few cues for my mom's birthday cake, she ran with it and made it a very memorable cake. My mom even decided to match the table sheet and outfit for the occasion. Thanks Kwento!
The most perfect cake for my babies first birthday party! Everyone was amazed at how beautiful and delicious the cake was! Super easy to order and customize by colour and flavour as well. Will most likely be ordering a fringe cake every bday year now
I love Kwento's cakes!!! I ordered a birthday cake online for a small get-together. I left a note specifically asking for a monochrome pink cake, and I could not be happier with the result. Too cute for words!
Where do I even begin? I have been looking forward to my birthday to order a Kwento cake all year! I got the ube macapone with a custom fringe design and it did not disappoint. Not only were the flavours exactly what I anticipated buttery, heavy ube flavour and not too sweet the WOW factor of the cake impressed all the guests. Will definitely be ordering a cake annually for my birthday and for my friends too. Definitely check out the store as there are ready made cakes, cookies and fun seasonal items. The staff are so sweet and on Uber eats too.
Not only were the cakes absolutely gorgeous, but they were incredibly moist and delicious as well. We brought them to a restaurant for a birthday celebration, and the entire restaurant staff and patrons were asking us where we got them. Highly recommend!
