I went into the Cafe today and they were closing in 5 mins and I said can I still order something. They were so lovely , served me and let me stay and have my food , didn't rush me and it was delicious as always. I have been there afew times now and it's always great . Thank you ladies .
Wow! What a wee gem we stumbled upon. The menu is fabulous, staff are excellent and the food was delicious. We were there on a beautiful sunny day. We sat outside and enjoyed our meals in the sunshine. My mango smoothie was outstanding. This little cafe is worth the detour off SH1.
Stopped in today for brunch. Have wanted to come here for a very long time with the so many positive experiences I have heard about the place. Popped in just after midday and was quiet busy. Great to see. Except the place appeared a bit mess. Staff running round from order to order, it looked a bit like chaos. No greeting at the door. Just sit yourself and clear the previous tables plates. Nevertheless, we got settled in and ordered. Food took around 30mins and was cold. Poached eggs were a bit firm and bacon was burnt. Mac n cheese was cold inside, but no one checked back in to see everything was okay. Would've been happy just for staff to pop by and checked on the table to fix a few minor issues but we couldn't even wave staff down. Would love to try again another day. Guessing today wasn't their day
We had a wonderful brunch here. The food was delicious and the coffee was the best we’ve had in a long time. Great service and vibe. I’m half Dutch and loved it. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again next time we are in town. The windmill shop next door is definitely worth a visit too along with the library.
We drove three hours to visit the Molen Cafe, excited to enjoy some authentic Dutch food due to our background.nnWe arrived at 14:20, and their website stated the cafe closes at 15:00. However, when we arrived, we were told the kitchen was already closed—“30 minutes” before the posted closing time—despite the fact that there were still people being served and we had 10 more minutes. We were offered food from the cold section, which wasn’t the food we drove all the way for.nnIt’s frustrating when there's a lack of clarity on the website about kitchen hours. If it’s truly a 15:00 closing, the kitchen should remain open until then, not 40 minutes early.
