Really good breakfasts & so many delicious choices. Coffee excellent! Staff so friendly! Well priced. Plenty of easy parking. Totally understand why they have such great reviews. We will be back. Thanks.
An absolute gem of a cafe. A varied menu that changes frequently. Staff are the heart of this place. They completely understand the concept of hospitality. When you walk in your warmly greeted and you feel at home. The star of the staffing group is the day to day manager Donna. She is superb. Kind, caring, very efficient and professional. You always feel like a valued customer.
I had ordered the Awa breakfast as well as a Chai latte. We were indirectly informed that there would be a 15 minute delay on our coffee. There were 4 of us ready to sit down to an amazing breakfast. It cost us just over $104.00. We ordered at around 9.45 am and some of us got our breakfast around 10.15 am. It would have been fine if the breakfast was hot, it wasn't even warm and the chai latte showed up it was the other side of lukewarm and drowned in cinnamon. The bacon had cooled off and the eggs were well not worth mentioning. Eventually there was a turnaround in food delivery and service, we weren't even asked how our meal was, I just couldn't eat mine. The toast on all of the plates was more white than toasted!! We left and went to the Comm, coffee was amazing and it was hot! Needless to say we will not be back!!
Amazing Cafe Awa!! Blown away by the outstanding service, mouth watering food and unbelievable value. Corn fritters were next level good and the halloumi, salad, and dressing were just the cherries on top. The Awa Breakfast was a beast of a brekky - everything on the plate was top notch delicious. Iced mochas were perfect too.nTrust me when I say I’ll be coming back to Whakatāne for Cafe Awa - It’s just that good.
Excellent eggs benedict and coffee — great location with a view
