I have eaten here on multiple occasions and all have consistently impressed me. This restaurant is unique to the area and it's atmosphere is very relaxed with respectable service. My partner and I do very much enjoy this spot and it's awesome Ethiopian food. We started with Veggie Sambosas that are perfect: crisp fried creamy potato and carrot. For our entree we shared the Lamb Wat which has just enough of a kick if you are looking for that slight heat. Parking: 4 or 5 free spots in their lot but more available free along the street.
Quality Ethiopian spot in the middle of Cajun country. CONS: Waitress seemed like she was either high or extremely carefree. Seemed like she didn't have a clue & needed prodding. PROS: Food was delightful. Portions were appropriate. Prices were adequate.
Had my first Ethiopian meal here, 1/29/22. The food was delicious, and came out quick. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend dining here.
We were walking dow Magazine street and spotted this restaurant and walked in since we have never tried Ethiopian food. Our server was Ermias and she was very friendly and helpful in answering our questions. We were not that hungry and looked to share a dish and she suggested we try Doro Wat which is the national dish of Ethiopia. We got the Chicken Doro wat and it came with their bread and lentils . It was pretty good and glad we stopped by.
We were visiting New Orleans for the holiday weekend, and we were looking for something on the 4th of July. We saw this place was open and decided to try it out. They have a little outdoor seating and in doors. We got the chicken tibs. It came with a side of collard greens which was a surprise. The one dish ended up being $18. The flavor was pretty good. A little on the pricier side for the amount of food but definitely an enjoyable experience for a mom and pop restaurant!
Where do I start?! First, the Injera is AUTHENTIC and delicious. The portions are perfect, the presentation is unmatched...it's easy to see how they've been around so long! But the true hidden gem is the BAKLAVA!!!!!! Perfect after your meal or to go but you do not want to miss it!!! And the outside atmosphere is cozy and inviting, especially all lit up at night. Perfect for a group BYOB nosh...TOP NOTCH!!!
First time visit and will be back! Sambusa was the best I’ve had in the US. . The food was top notch. Could have provided more injera bread, but I didn't ask. Had veggie combo and chicken wot. Service was prompt, restaurant was clean, food was excellent for price.
If you havent eaten here, you are missing out. It is absolutely delicious. They give you an enormous amount of food and every dish is fresh. The bread is also amazing!!!Food: 5/5
I drive to NOLA just to have this experience. Best cuisine in their category. I love everything I have tried. When I'm feeling down I come here and my spirits are immediately lifted. This food is cooked with so much love clearlyFood: 5/5
Lovely atmosphere! I have been to every Ethiopian restaurant in the city and this one is my favorite. The veggie plate is easily enough food for two and we have leftovers! Such a good deal Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options were amazing!
