I recently spent a beautiful afternoon at Cable Bay Vineyard on Waiheke Island, and it was an unforgettable experience. The vineyard offers a perfect combination of great food, stunning views, and exceptional drinks, making it a standout destination.nnThe outdoor patio is truly one of the highlights of Cable Bay. With sweeping views of the vineyards and the sparkling waters beyond, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a leisurely afternoon. The ambiance is elegant yet laid-back, with comfortable seating that invites you to stay a little longer and soak in the island’s beauty.nI ordered an espresso martini while waiting for our reservation. It was fantastic—rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The espresso martini was a nice surprise and added a bit of variety to the usual vineyard offerings, making it a great choice for those who want to mix things up.nnHowever, the real star of the visit was the dessert and wine pairing. I opted for a decadent dessert sampler, which was beautifully presented and even more delicious.nnWhether you’re enjoying an espresso martini on the patio or indulging in a perfect dessert and wine pairing, Cable Bay Vineyard offers a top-tier experience on Waiheke Island. The stunning location, delightful drinks, and outstanding culinary pairings make it a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the best of the island’s wine and food scene.
We went for a family dinner while visiting Waiheke, had to be one of the most spectacular views that I have had while dining in NZ you can see the entire Auckland skyline. Food and wine was delicious and the staff were lovely! Would go back again next time we visited
We popped in for a wine tour and did a tasting. Wines were nice, but the view is simply stunning!nnA cheese board and a bottle of wine with this view wouldn’t go a stray!!!
We did wine tasting at another place and on the way back to the ferry terminal, we just stopped here for the food but it turned out to be so nice. I highly recommend the pizza there.nnThe restaurant has a really nice ambience, with the window wall opening to the amazing view of the island. We came on an autumn afternoon so it has a cozy and relaxing vibe. The service was really nice as well.
This was the first of many vineyards we experienced. So glad we came here. Wonderful view as we walked down the steps and into the restaurant. Great expansive water views through the large windows. Lunch was beautiful and the selection of wine just devine. The staff were so attentive and helpful with the wine selection. There was also a wine tasting opportunity in the back room which we enjoyed. Great ambience and would come back again.
