Had a fantastic breakfast at Butterfish. We arrived at around 9am on a Sunday and had several tables along the waterfront to choose from it was much busier when we walked by the night before. Everyone was very attentive, service was really great. We were pleased when the food arrived and it turned out to be delicious as well. All in all, fantastic spot for food, ambience and service.

Late lunch along the waterfront in Russell. Comfortable table and absolutely delicious meal! Lamb chops were tender and meaty. Indonesian rice with chicken and shrimp was spicy and wonderful . Met the chef too! Recommend you give them a try.
The nicest meal we've had in a long time. Great food and service in a picturesque setting. The pork was amazing, as was my wife's butterfish special. Also recommended the seafood chowder. Thanks a lot to the staff.
Butterfish snapper was dry and tasted frozen. Chowder was watery/diluted but flavour was good. Presentation was good, service was a bit slow. Quite pricey for the quality of food which was just OK.
