Butterfish has it all: friendly people, amazingly great food, and a view to die for. I highly recommend it as a great casual restaurant to sit back and enjoy life.nnWe didn’t read reviews on this one—unusual for me—but lucked into a gem. I am not sure I will want to try other places in Russell.
Not only is the setting superb, the food and service is too. This great little eatery has tasty and inventive dishes and a very decent drink selection in an affordable price bracket. A must to enjoy on your next or even first visit to beautiful Russell.
Came one evening for dinner and craving for seafood chowder. Found this place with the perfect ambience. Thank you to the lady who serve us ! Your smile and friendliness make us feel very welcome inside. The chowder is yum too!
Really nice place for a meal with great service. They hadn't update the summers hours on google yet, so we didn't realize limited options until dinner. We shared the small oyster plate and chips. Service was super friendly and they were very helpful with choices. Food was great. Nice are to sit down by the water.

So tasty. It's definitely worth having.nnService was excellent, even apologized for delay in food arriving, but no apology needed, it arrived in great time. Was so busy soaking up the sun and views. They bought my Iced chocolate out after I had eaten, which was really nice.nnDefinitely recommend this Restaurant and Café as a place to go to, for great kai and kāwhe. The menu was excellent, and cabinet kai, mouth watering .
